The WW Equipment Engineering Innovation team is searching for an innovative and solutions-oriented engineer to lead the initiative of developing and delivering current and next generation equipment for our world-class delivery stations. We are looking for a hands-on leader with experience in any of the following areas; Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Manufacturing/Mechanical Plant Engineering, First Article Inspection (FAIR). In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external teams to design high-quality, cost-effective solutions for our last mile delivery systems.

Key job responsibilities
- Act as the WW technical expert for equipment development. This includes taking a leading role in equipment testing and validation.
- Lead idea generation for innovative design/equipment solutions to existing operational problems.
- Create documentation for equipment solutions, such as design definitions, quality specifications, assembly instructions and equipment design standards, etc.
- Generate structured plan to turn innovative equipment design solutions from ideas to assessment, pilot and finally expansion
- Own and deliver against plans, providing network reporting, financial approval and leadership approval for all stages of program progression
- Act as technical expert in area of ownership, providing technical expertise to other Engineering teams, alongside providing technical challenge for suppliers and partners
- Build large-scale business proposals based on innovation designs for WW Ops Engineering, often with ambiguity; collaborate with WHS, Planning, Launch, Procurement, Finance, HR, external partners and product teams to ensure project completion (on time and within budget)
- Ensure customer satisfaction by following through with requests and ensuring needs are met as accurately and immediately as possible
- Own internal process innovations across the Engineering Org, including owning road-mapping and planning for given area of responsibility and ensuring roadmap is delivered
- Coordinate with Tech/Software teams, driving the operational execution of software enhancements as well as ensuring the software supports the physical design/process innovations

The Role
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing engineering inputs integral to both small and large-scale hydro and dam projects. You will lead technical teams and mentor junior staff, support production, and coordinate delivery of engineering work products with multi-disciplinary project team members and external stakeholders. You will not only support and help grow the broader engineering team capabilities, but your particular focus will be on continuing the development of our hydropower capabilities and working with key staff in growing the business.
You'll also be involved in supporting project management duties, coordinating with internal and external clients as well as assisting with guiding and mentoring other engineers within the team. In this role you will lead teams conducting technical work involving turbines, generators, and their associated ancillary systems, as well as other balance of plant systems such as gates, hoists, cranes, pumping systems, lubrication systems, and other critical equipment at hydroelectric powerplants. You will lead teams conducting technical work for feasibility studies, engineering designs, preparation of construction drawings and specifications, and carrying out site visits and inspections. You will be working in a collaborative environment with a great team of engineers, technicians, scientists, and other industry-leading peers, and you will also interface directly with clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Design modifications to, or entirely new, mechanical systems related to dams, control structures, water retaining structures, and hydroelectric generating stations.
Execute multiple projects from the proposal stage through to completion. Projects will include a variety of small to large projects involving water resources, flood control, and hydroelectric sectors.
Conduct site investigations, condition assessments, and provide design and construction support.
Mechanical engineering design and refurbishment of cranes, hoists, hydroelectric turbines, generators, and other balance of plant systems.
Conduct feasibility studies for proposed designs and assess costs and benefits for alternatives in a systematic and thorough manner.
Preparation and review of reports.
Work collaboratively with other disciplines to execute project deliverables, as well as ensure that quality objectives, schedules, and budgets are met.
Edit and prepare design specifications.
Contribute to the development of the hydro-mechanical practice at KGS by assisting the US mechanical design lead by documenting technical knowledge, improving internal production processes, coordinating and developing internal training content, and other tasks.

About You
To fill the role, we're looking for an applicant to bring forward a good mix of qualifications and previous experiences. Some highlights should include:
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university. A post-graduate degree would be an asset.
Minimum of 7-15 years of experience in mechanical engineering.
Must be registered as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Washington, Oregon, or California, as well as eligible for registration as a professional engineer in other states by comity through NCEES; or, if not already registered as a PE, would be able to obtain licensure within 1 year from date of hire.
Previous consulting experience is preferred, but not required.

The Building Science Project Manager, Washington leads the implementation of projects and small programs related to affordable housing and sustainable communities with an emphasis on energy and water efficiency and renewable energy. The Building Project Manager is responsible for maintaining client relationships, conducting site assessments and assisting with program development for specific initiatives. Many projects focus on utility affordability, building decarbonization, renewable energy access, climate planning, and/or community resilience. Responsibilities
Lead residential retrofit projects and support programs in the Washington market, specifically in the Puget Sound region.
Conduct on-site energy efficiency and decarbonization building assessments and provide analysis and reporting to building owners, tenants and clients with support of Elevate's engineering team.
Oversee project teams that include staff from across Elevate.
Communicate regular project/program updates and results to internal staff and external stakeholders.
Support client engagement across Washington, including conducting customer outreach, preparing for and participating in client meetings, developing proposals, and coordinating with partnership managers across teams.
Coordinate across teams and with partner organizations on projects and support client delivery of programs.
Represent Elevate with local, state, and national energy efficiency stakeholders at meetings, conferences, etc.
Stay current on affordable housing policies, energy efficiency and green design trends, and available financial and program offerings for building owners, developers, municipalities, and community-based organizations.
