The Lead Structural Engineer Position
The Lead Structural Engineer role is a diversified role that provides the opportunity to develop a deep understanding of the steel construction industry, along with the technical specialization of erection engineering. The Lead Structural Engineer works closely with the Engineering Manager, the Pre-Construction Team, the Project Management Team, and the Project Field Team to support the safe and efficient erection of structural steel.
While this position will focus primarily on the analysis of structures during erection to maintain/provide stability during all stages of erection, the Lead Structural Engineer has the opportunity to perform other construction engineering tasks. These additional tasks could include the design of temporary shoring, lifting beams, lifting lugs, erection aids, etc. Additionally, the Lead Structural Engineer may also interact with the estimating team to review projects at bid time for general review of building stability. Requirements
Education, Experience, & Licensure:
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) required.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with a focus on conveyance systems.
Experience with the design and construction of water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
Experience with project management principles and practices.
Experience with the layout and profiles of pipeline design in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Knowledge of subsurface and geotechnical engineering requirements.
Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
NASSCO certification.

The Pipeline Project Engineer acquires general knowledge of principles and practices of related fields and can function as a member or Lead of multidisciplinary teams. This is a hybrid work schedule!
Consideration for an Engineer position requires the following certifications or experience:
* Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Civil Engineering
* 6-10 years relevant experience
* PE is Preferred.

As a Pipeline Project Engineer with Kleinfelder, you will be expected to:
* Prepare pipeline designs, including calculations, drawings, profiles, details, layouts, and studies from field inspections, preliminary sketches, specifications, and instructions requiring knowledge of engineering practices and shop and field procedures
* Prepare pipeline and facility designs, including thereview of designs and documentation to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards and design criteria
* Acquire and analyze data using appropriate standard quantitative methods
* Gas system network and hydraulic analysis
* Construction specification and bid package preparation
* Pipeline design and material selection
* Alternative/Feasibility studies
* Develop status reports with task completion, progress, challenges, and solutions
* Work closely with other workgroups at our clients' place of business and Kleinfelder offices
* Coordinate various inspection and testing methods, gather data, analyze, and report findings
* Coordinate and project management of internal resources and subcontractors
* Demonstrate sound engineering judgment
* Assign tasks to and coordinate with drafting and administrative staff
* Assign tasks to and coordinate work of Associate Engineers and technicians or administrative staff within team
* Provide guidance, instruction, and coaching to entry-level and other Engineers
* Assist in determining schedule & budget requirements
* Support business development and marketing initiatives

What You Will Contribute to OHM Advisors

Requirements
Education, Experience, & Licensure:
Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, with an emphasis in municipal infrastructure engineering. A master's degree is a plus.
Minimum 7 years of experience with municipal infrastructure design. Experience with roadways, parks, and public facilities are a plus.
Experience with State of Michigan agencies; MDOT is a plus.
Experience in utility infrastructures, such as potable water, sanitary sewer, and stormwater systems, are foundational.
Experience in business development, marketing, and sales skills.
Professional Engineer License in Michigan.
Technical Skills:
Proficient in the use Microsoft Office Suite.
