Design of gusset plates and verification of local effects in frame members. Analysis of relevant project documents to ensure compliance with project specific design requirements. Design coordination with the Structural Engineers of Record (SEORs) responsible for the overall design of structures that use BRBs. Response to Requests for Information (RFIs) from the field and/or from the shop as required during installation and manufacturing. Performing of other occasional duties as assigned, including but not limited to assistance with bidding/pricing, occasional traveling, marketing, and Research and Development (R&D) related activities. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering. Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one preferred. Understanding of current building codes and standards, engineering fundamentals, and structural load paths. Familiarity with seismic and structural steel design preferred.     Job Description This Entry Level or Mid-Level Project Engineer position in the landing gear industry is with the ES3 Mechanical Systems/Wheels/Brakes Design and Analysis Group. The engineer will be responsible for performing a variety of mechanical engineering functions to include, but not limited to: Reliability/maintainability data analysis, risk assessments, new designs, redesigns, CAD modeling and drawing development, prototyping, Aircraft system level requirements analysis, test fixture development and airworthiness certification on a variety of military platforms.
