Responsibilities
In this role as Senior Mechanical Engineer, it will be focused on facility assessments for the New York State Office of General Services facility assessment program. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience evaluating facilities and preparing reports to support strategic decision-making and resource allocations. Additional responsibilities will include:
Conduct comprehensive assessments of facilities for NYS OGS portfolio of buildings, adhering to established protocols and standards
Collaborate with project stakeholders to define assessment criteria and objectives aligned with mission of LiRo-Hill and NYS OGS
Utilize industry leading methodologies and tools to gather, analyze, and present assessment data effectively
Develop detailed Improvement Plans that effectively prioritize facility upgrades and renovations based on assessment data and program priorities
Engage with interdisciplinary teams to integrate assessment results into conceptual design for cost estimation and scheduling team members
Provide technical expertise and guidance to support the program
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Licenced PE with significant experience in facility assessments
10-15 years of industry experience
Proven track record of managing assessments for public agencies or governmental organizations
Familiarity with NYS OGS procedures a significant plus
Strong knowledge of building systems and construction methodologies, with experience evaluating diverse facility types
Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey technical information clearly to diverse audiences

Mechanical Project Engineer Job Code: ENPJP2 + Eng II, Proj Engineering The Opportunity: Primarily responsible for small capital projects, maintenance, and operations support engineering, developing, and implementing new processes and improving existing processes in the plant. This role also includes supporting other functions in the plant, e.g., safety initiatives, project engineering, environmental compliance, and production to meet the plant's needs and goals.

What you need to succeed:

* Excellent technical and engineering skills, communication skills including leading group meetings, multi-tasking, and use of problem-solving tools.
* The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and use problem solving tools.
* Related industrial co-op/intern experience required.

This position is familiar with multiple product lines but may focus on one product line to develop product expertise and works independent with some supervision of work. Has successfully managed some medium specification projects that shipped and/or made some sales calls or presentations independently. Can quote and handle Service related issues. Choice to assign more complex work is becoming a non-issue. Can travel independently on occasion, assists in training others and/or performs FEA/design calculations in a blended role. Level II: Service - Coordinating "production" with problem solving and prevention
1. Resource management (material and people)
a. Communicates with shop staff, QA/QC inspectors, and engineering staff on a daily basis.
b. Interacts with customers to deliver first time quality.
c. Engages leadership team in setting and achieving goals. This includes working with key leadership both functionally and strategically to drive overall improvements inside and outside of engineering.
d. Plays an active role in product design/development including review of technical details, design for manufacture (cost effective and manufacturing process compliant) and design for test (efficient manufacturing test ensuring product quality).
2. Resource scheduling, output management and reporting
a. Ensure open communication throughout the organization by keeping management informed of Project status and ensuring coordination of Lean activities.
b. Create metrics, deployment goals, and objectives to drive accountability throughout the project team.
c. Organizes, plans, reviews, and provides status of projects managed.
d. Engage in product requirements definition and reviews.
e. Participate as reviewer in the design review process.
3. Continuous Improvement
a. Identify, review and develop product improvements.
b. Confers with management to establish continuous improvement goals/objectives and overall direction.
c. Identify areas with other functional leaders, employees, and customers to develop significant lean opportunities for improvement throughout the organization.
d. Chairs meetings and process improvement teams.
4. Equipment & process maintenance

LaBella Associates is currently seeking a Transportation Project Engineer in our Buffalo, NY, office location. The successful candidate must be technically astute in transportation and/or highway engineering and have a proven background in the development of transportation and/or highway projects. This role will often perform as a project manager on some assignments or project engineer on larger size projects.
Duties.
Performs technical discipline tasks including research, reports, design, specification and plan preparation to ensure the most efficient and cost-effective execution of assigned projects.
Assist Project Managers with business development activities, including meeting with clients.
Assist with preparing and coordinating proposal efforts to secure work.
Salary Range:
$80,000 - $100,000 per year

Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required.
8-10+ years of progressive transportation design experience.
PE is required
Experience on NYSDOT, NYSTA, and Local Administered Federal Aid transportation projects.
Experience with Microstation / AutoCAD. Inroads experience a plus.
General knowledge of NYSDOT specifications and standards.
Strong oral and written communication skills and interpersonal relationships skills.
