Are you in? Primary Purpose:
Develops and/or leads teams in studies, plans, criteria, specifications, calculations, evaluations, design documents, performance assessments, integrated systems analysis, cost estimates, budgets, associated with the planning, design, licensing, construction, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of Exelon's electric transmission facilities/systems. Provides consultation and recommendations to the Company within and to other business units and/or customers as a result of studying company or customer-owned systems, processes, equipment, vehicles or facilities. Reviews financial data from budget and actual costs of projects. Provides technical expertise to strategic, legislative and operational decisions. Participates in creating, updating, and applying internal/industry standards and technology in a specialized area of expertise. Trains and mentors others.
Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
Note: This is a hybrid position (in-office with remote flexibility). Employees are required to be in office at least three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Primary Duties:
Leads and performs assignments in specialized areas requiring extensive engineering expertise. Requiring maintaining state of the art engineering credential in the specialized technical area.
Leads and performs engineering tasks and projects associated with a critical or analytical engineering project or a small number of complex projects that require specialized knowledge in many areas, may include field testing troubleshooting, and peer review.
Evaluates, develops, implements and leads projects that have significant financial and operational impact, may also develop initial commissioning plans. Plans, writes and performs tasks for documentation deliverables and projects
Participates in department planning, through field/site walkdowns, attend meetings/conference calls, provide budget recommendations and monitor performance for the accomplishment of committed results.
Performs assignments while acting independently, and may lead multi-discipline teams, may include providing direct oversight of contractors.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Licensed Professional Engineer (2) (3) Knowledge of engineering designs, principles and practices
Ability to analyze and interpret complex electrical and mechanical systems.
Knowledge and ability to apply problem solving approaches and engineering theory.
Detailed knowledge of applicable standards, codes methods, and practices unique to areas of expertise.
7+ years of professional engineering experience (1) (3) (See Note 3. Thorough knowledge and experience in unique areas of engineering expertise.
Ability to apply advanced engineering principles to identify and resolve complex issues.
Minimum of three related career experiences (4) (i.e., changes in technical job responsibilities, which may or may not include a change in department) OR
Lead Member of a recognized industry committee OR
Professional Engineer's License (2), advanced technical degree, MBA or Project Management Certification (1) Master's degree in Engineering reduces the OJT experience requirement by 1 year. **Overview**
The Electrical Energy Engineer for the Development Team is responsible for independently assessing building electrical systems while performing technical on-site surveys and in-office analysis on assigned projects. Analysis will include participation in technical studies, investigations, and development of energy-efficient scope on assigned projects.
**Responsibilities**
Specific responsibilities include:
- Assists in the production of projects that are on-time, within-budget, and meet the requirements of industry standards & codes and client specifications.
- Leads, schedules, and conducts site surveys to determine existing facility electrical equipment, interconnection, metering, and conditions independently. Assists in identifying and preparing energy efficient scope of schematic design phase of projects.
- Performs electrical system calculations including solar energy generation, battery sizing, generator power system sizing, wire and panel sizing, electric vehicle charging, etc.
- Interacts in meetings with owners, clients, and/or architects as needed independently; prepares meeting notes.
- Designs and prepares documentation for electrical systems for projects including solar arrays, battery energy storage systems, electric vehicle charging systems, combined heat & power systems, central energy plant expansion needs, and demand response programs.
- Assists Mechanical Survey Team with necessary electrical infrastructure designs to support proposed mechanical equipment changes/upgrades. Can include design work involving switchgears, switchboards, manual/automatic transfer switches, transformers, metering, and generators.
- Assists all Renewables Team members with questions concerning electrical engineering design, codes, and one line diagram creation.
- Assists the development team in the coordination with other disciplines, including energy modeling, demand management, financial modeling, lighting, detailed design, etc.
- Assist the Director-DER with Quality Control reviews of project work by other team members.
- Attends and/or teaches in-house and external training sessions in necessary technical areas related to building systems.
- Participates in industry organizations and attends events, meetings, and activities.
- Upholds company owner advocacy philosophy and organizational core values.
- Supervises less experienced engineers, technicians, and/or analysts while managing specific projects.
This position is Full-Time, Exempt, and reports to the Director-DER of the Development Team.
**Qualifications**
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from a four-year ABET accredited university.
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE)
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills and aptitude.
- Required experience in Excel and Word.
- Ability to communicate effectively with facility managers and engineers.
- Ability to work independently to meet deadlines while on survey.
- Ability to manage time effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Ability to use technology and apps for collecting data while on survey.
- Passion for quality and client satisfaction.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented and willing to tackle various ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment.

In this role you will be challenged to help navigate and implement a major energy provider's green energy initiative. Responsible for the stewardship of utility ratepayer dollars and the overall improvement of our community. The position will include both desk responsibilities reviewing and organizing energy efficiency incentive applications, as well as field visits to confirm proper implementation. The position will also entail conducting virtual and on-site training sessions amongst internal peers and contractor network, as well as identifying energy saving opportunities for various Commercial and Industrial facilities. In addition, managing incentive applications through their lifecycle is a key component to the position.

Who you are:
5-10 years of work experience in HVAC design, energy engineering, or similar consulting engineering work.
