Performs quality control and inspection services on construction projects. Ensures the quality of materials and equipment in any phase of manufacture, shop, or field fabrication, delivery, or installation, comply with contract documents. Responsible for a portfolio of two or more projects with an average value of over $50M.Job Duties

* Coordinates system-wide inspection processes as assigned. Ensures critical activities are achieved in a timely manner and in accordance with facilities inspections protocol.

* Performs jobsite walkthrough inspections to ensure procedures are followed and materials conform to contract specifications. Inspects work for compliance with standards, details, plans, and best practices.

* Creates and maintains detailed and accurate project inspection documentation in both electronic file format as well as hard copy. Compiles and reviews contract documents and reports on inspection status, contract compliance, and quality control.

* In cooperation and coordination with the FP&C Project Management team, communicates with clients, co-workers, university stakeholders, and project team members, meeting needs within project scope and through core values and timely communication.
* Identifies discrepancies or conflicts within construction documents.
* Monitors safety and traffic control procedures on assigned sites. Informs affected parties of potential noise, utilities interruptions, and other interference to normal activities.
* Develops and maintains professional working relationships with construction contractors, subcontractors and consulting teams.
* Provides mentoring and coaching to Facilities Project Inspectors as assigned.
* Monitors construction project closeout, including warranties, operating manuals, and completion verification.

Job DescriptionThe Project Inspector will perform construction administration and inspection services for the state, county, and local roadway and bridge projects and municipal utility and infrastructure projects. This position will monitor and enforce quality standards and specifications, read blueprints, and work on a variety of construction projects.

Minimum Qualifications

-2 years of transportation construction inspection experience is desired as a minimum. Prefer candidates with 5 plus years of experience.
-Different levels of Construction certifications are preferred however not required
-DOT certifications
-ACI Concrete field-testing Technician-Grade I
-NICET Highway Construction level II
-IMSA Traffic signal Construction Tech Level II and IMSA Roadway Lighting Tech Level I
-NICET Level II construction materials testing and NICET Level II Geotechnical Engineering Technology-Highway Construction Level II or III

Education:

-Associates/Bachelor"s degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Engineering Technology, or Construction Management is desired.
-If no degree, an equivalent post-secondary education with 2 to 4 years degree or High School diploma or GED in combination with NICET Highway construction level II certification.

ASRC Federal Netcentric Technologies is seeking a
Facility Projects Inspector
to support our contract at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, NMUnder the supervision of the assigned supervisor, perform a variety of tasks at a more responsible level involving monitoring of the inspection, testing, and evaluation of roadways, bridges, buildings, and utility systems for the purpose of maintaining safety and effectiveness of operation.
Monitor the inspection of roads, bridges, drainage facilities, buildings, underground utilities, and other similar construction to ensure that work quality and progress are maintained according to prescribed schedules and specifications.


Responsibilities:

• Summarizes, reduces, and plots survey notes; prepares rough field sketches; and computes volumes or quantities of materials. Makes recommendations to the design engineer regarding interpretation of the surveys, site geology, structural layout, and other pertinent data.
• Briefs contractors on policies, procedures, and regulations to be followed in construction work by going over the construction site with the contractor prior to beginning of construction. Works closely with contractors in explaining details of plans and specifications as necessary and making periodic checks of the progress the contractor is making.
• Observations include examining pipe placement; checking fill and borrow operations; checking rock gradation, quality, and placement; and checking placement of forms and steel prior to concrete pours.
• Determines that needed materials certifications are received, recommends issuance of suspend and resume work orders, and that safety and sanitary requirements are met on the job site. Reports to the project engineer, government representative, or contracting officer's representative (COR) any conditions which differ from those laid out in the plans and specifications.
• Supervises a field survey party in the surveying, staking, and layout of specified items for floodwater retarding structures, and EWP Program projects according to plans and specifications. Reviews contractor's schedule of operations and keeps pace with this schedule by staking lines, grades, and locations of respective work operations.
• Makes the necessary resurveys and changes in design plans following completion of portions of the construction work as an aid to the project engineer in preparing a set of "As Built" plans.
• Maintains accurate daily records including job diary and daily inspector's reports.
• Records in detail all work interruptions, losses of efficiencies, and other observed or reported factors affecting the contractor's performance.
• Makes certain that no extra work is performed by the contractor until notified by the government representative that such work is authorized by the contracting officer (CO).
• Maintains a daily activities record and a record of time distribution. Keeps field notes and sketches of work surveyed and laid out. Attends safety meetings as requested.
• Takes proper care of all property and equipment assigned in accordance with instructions received from the supervisor. Performs related duties as assigned.

• Specialized Inspector Course
• Shall have at least 3 years' experience working in a military environment and familiarity with Air Force Civil Engineering guidance, rules, and regulations.
• Must possess strong computer skills, including, but not limited to Microsoft Office products.
• Must possess or be able to obtain/maintain Secret Clearance.
• Must be capable of working with customers and company employees in a courteous, professional, and effective manner.
• Must have and maintain a valid US driver's license.
• Strong command of the English language both verbally and written
