DAY-TO-DAY
As an assistant project manager, you provide valuable support to our project manager as you help coordinate and oversee project completion. You are motivated to continuously improve your skills and knowledge so you can take on more responsibility in the future. Every day, you assist our project manager with essential tasks such as reviewing project drawings and scopes. Position Mandate
The Project Management & Technical Implementation Specialist is part of the Project Delivery Unit (PDU), providing both technical and management support across a portfolio of projects to deliver excellence to clients. This is a full-time position reporting to a Director or Senior Manager.
This role manages day-to-day tasks for USAID and other client activities by contributing to client relationship management, overall program and task management, financial management, project compliance, alongside technical assistance. This individual works closely with clients and partners to plan, implement, and troubleshoot project implementation issues and collaborates with the Project Operations Unit to ensure compliance with Resonance policies and client regulations, using Resonance tools and systems. This role may supervise staff members (Sr. Analyst/Analyst and/or Assistant).
This individual works closely with the PDU and Technical Sector Teams to ensure technical excellence is integrated throughout project delivery and establishes ongoing communication and collaboration with relevant Technical Sector Team members to ensure technical alignment across project activities. In particular, this role will focus on providing technical support for private sector engagement work within the humanitarian assistance context.
The primary focus of this position is to manage the implementation of Resonance's Government Services humanitarian assistance project portfolio, however, strategic support to Resonance's business development efforts and Impact Advisory clients will be assigned as necessary.
1 In partnership with the PDU Director and individual Project Management Units (PMUs), manages prime contracts and subcontracts to achieve outstanding, efficient, and compliant technical delivery, including:
· Recruits local and international consultants and project staff as needed
· Identifies and manages subcontractors (facilitates subcontract approval process, drafts subcontract and corresponding modifications, monitors subcontractor performance, reviews subcontractor invoices, and reviews all subcontractor deliverables to ensure compliance with terms of the agreement)
· Supports management and oversight of technical scopes of work (SOWs), contracts, reporting, activities, and deliverables
· Manages project budget to meet financial targets, supports monthly invoicing, financial reporting as needed, ensuring that required financial forecasts are uploaded accurately and in a timely manner
· Liaise with the Project Operations Team to ensure contract compliance
· In partnership with cross functional teams, designs and develops project work plans and project activities, ensuring preparation and submission of high quality and timely deliverables
· Supports the start-up and implementation of large, complex USG-funded field-based projects, including establishing a field office, hiring local staff, opening a bank account, engaging local lawyers, and facilitating the contract registration process to ensure compliant field operations
· Supports timely and compliant close-out of large, complex USG-funded field-based projects
2. Trains field-based staff in company and client rules, regulations, systems, and procedures
