PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Safety Promote Cantera's culture of “Safety First” Project safety implementation and management in accordance with Cantera's Safety Program including performing safety audits Participate in all incidents/accident's investigations, including going to the occupational medical facility with the co-workers Interacts with co-workers and acquires their feedback as to how we can improve safety on the project Interacts with the Cantera Safety Coordinator to ensure a safe workplace Develops and coordinates Site Specific Safety Plans created by enforcing Cantera's rules, this includes your workers, other crews, and any trade on site. Be willing to discipline noncompliance Operational Be familiar with and follow the Cantera Concrete Staff Organization document for managing projects Assembles the information provided for each project “The Greenbook” Reports project person-hours and quantities on a timely basis Reviews Superintendent's Job Turnover process with the Cantera leadership team Maintains working relationships with internal and external clients, including representatives of Owner and Architect/Engineer Develops and maintains site organization plans, in coordination with the Project Manager Coordinate site testing and inspection efforts Monitors costs, including labor time and material Manages schedules and ensures all activities take place on or ahead of scheduled dates. Sets up and manages all project logs, including, but not limited to: RFI log, Submittal log, and Drilled Pier Log Completes weekly project cost review and performs monthly projections Sets up and maintains T&M Billing process, including monthly submission of Project Status Report to GC Keeps all contract documents up to date and provides copies for field use Perform all change pricing and update Vista with all contract changes Submit monthly billings to GC/Owner. Reports to: Senior Project Manager or Project Executive (in absence of SPM) Supervises: Assistant Project Manager and Jobsite Office Assistant Educational Requirements of position: * Degree/Experience * 4 year degree in a relevant curriculum from an accredited college or university + minimum of 3 years of relevant experience * or 4 year degree in a non-relevant curriculum from an accredited college or university + minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. * Trade Certification/Accreditation * OSHA 10 Hour Technical Requirements of position: * Software * Proficiency in Microsoft Word & Microsoft Excel * Proficiency in Primavera P6 (or similar scheduling software/application) * Proficiency in Timberline PJ (or similar project management software/application) * Proficiency in Viewpoint (or similar AP software/application) * Working knowledge of Navisworks, Revit and Sketch-up * General * Mastery of Quantity Take-off & Subcontractor Solicitation to support estimating * In-depth understanding of building components and trade sequencing * Working knowledge of construction surveying/layout * Working knowledge of contract language * Basic understanding of risk management Essential Function of the position * Supervising all direct responsibilities of the Assistant Project Manager. This role will support Project Managers across multiple construction and construction management jobs, ensuring smooth operations, accurate documentation, and excellent communication with owners, subcontractors, and internal teams. Key Responsibilities: Construction Jobs: Assist Project Managers (PMs) with bid solicitation and any other requests as needed. Set up jobs in software and pull quotes that match the budget, reviewing them with PMs. Issue owner AIA contracts and follow up for signature. Obtain W9 and insurance paperwork for vendor setup. Issue subcontracts and purchase orders; follow up to ensure all documents are signed. Assist with pre-construction meetings and provide the Superintendent with all necessary info. Request, track, and manage submittals in CE; send to Owner/Architect for review, follow up, and communicate feedback to subs. Issue and track RFIs (Requests for Information). Send weekly project updates to relevant stakeholders. Create owner change requests for PM review; upon approval, issue all related subcontract changes. Track job costs and alert PM if any items may exceed budget. Mid-month, remind all subs to submit invoices by the 20th. Review all AP invoices, forward to PM as needed, and request missing documentation. Assist with owner billing and percentage complete calculations. Obtain closeout documentation from all subs and organize binders for the owner. Serve as backup to any PM as needed. Construction Management (CM) Jobs: Assist in identifying and coordinating with General Contractors (GCs). Draft contracts between owners and GCs. Track all change orders and signed paperwork. Maintain job-specific spreadsheets for budget and change tracking to send to owners. Send weekly project updates. Requirements: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software Previous experience in construction or construction management support preferred.
