We have an exciting opportunity to join our facilities team as a Project Manager focusing on design and development projects for new stores.

This individual will oversee the development of test fits for all new store development. They will coordinate prototypical changes with Artchitects and Engineers. This individual will also manage special capital projects, perform drafting and architectural detailing as needed. Manage specifications for capital projects and new sites.
Responsibility

* Responsible for new store test fits. Works with Real Estate and city government to gather all pertinent information and specification requirements for potential new building sites. Develops preliminary schematic plans determining fit and layout of furniture/equipment into available space.• Oversees the work of third party architectural/design firms and requirements for the construction document to go to permit• Develops conceptual reflected ceiling plans and art/décor design intent drawings. Prepares presentation material to communicate vision.• Prototype evaluation and change implementation. Gathers information for proposed prototype changes through attending internal meetings with core teams. Evaluates and coordinates/implements prototype changes with Architect/engineer and core team. Incorporates latest prototype changes/addendums in blueprints/drawing.• Manages assigned capital projects through permitting. Collaborates with third party vendors and stakeholders. Prepares design details and supporting documentation.• Contract/Bid Management. Develops and maintains specifications for bidding purposes. Prepares bid packages for capital remodel projects.• Researches potential building products and finishes. Maintains product library.

Qualifications

Experience and Education

* Bachelor's degree in architecture, interior design or related field and a minimum of 5 years' experience as a project architect, project designer or project manager in the restaurant industry; or equivalent combination or education and experience.

Knowledge and Skills

* Computer skills including Excel & PowerPoint.• Strong AutoCAD skills.• Strong knowledge of design principles and conceptual planning.• Experience with architectural design rendering software (Revit, SketchUp, etc.)• Excellent written and oral communication including negotiating skills.• Thorough knowledge of construction methods, materials, blueprints, and specifications.• Specification writing skills.• Organizational and prioritizing skills.• Strong analytical and decision-making skills.• Creative and critical thinking.

A Brief Overview
The Design and Construction Project Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day efforts related to programming, planning, design, construction, and activation of small projects for the Stanford Health Care (SHC) under the general supervision of the Director. Ensures completion of projects within budget, on schedule, while meeting all program objectives and appropriate governmental regulations. Also acts as a liaison between the client/users and all other project participants including consultants, contractors, vendors, and outside jurisdictional agencies.

What you will do
Assesses, and documents project scope and program, describing the objectives, physical requirements, parameters, and constraints of the project, including not only the user's functional needs but also hospital and external jurisdictional criteria for heal and safety, operation, maintenance, energy efficiency, quality standards, contextual issues, and aesthetics. Assists in the development of policies, guidelines, standards, and acts as department representative on committees and professional organizations. Implements quality control measures to ensure project compliance with department, hospital, and university policies, government codes and regulations; also ensures conformance to the requirements of all project participants. Maintains communications on a regular and timely basis, ensuring that all project participants are informed of project status, problems, and required actions. Manages the process of furnishing and equipment selection, purchasing, and installation. Manages the review and approval process to ensure appropriate approvals of all design work from schematic studies through final construction documents and related field changes and changes in scope; as well as approval for conceptual and detailed projects budgets. Manages the selection process and contract negotiations for consultants, contractors, and vendors. Prepares and maintains accurate, coherent, timely, and auditable project records/files, and cost estimates with department procedures; and ensures that space inventory reports are complete. Provides leadership, and supervision to assigned consultants.


Education Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree required; in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management preferred


Experience Qualifications
Three (3) years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience

As a member of the Design Team, this individual will primarily be responsible for criteria standards, signage procurement / permitting, and support the Director with space planning and managing new restaurant openings (NRO's) drawing phases. High School diploma and Trade School certificate in AutoCAD 1-2 years' experience in the restaurant & retail industry working on construction projects preferred Strong working knowledge of graphic reproduction software, AutoCAD, Photoshop Suite, & SketchUp 3D modeling Initiative and ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams Ability and willingness to travel up to 5% of the time to visit job sites Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills with attention to detail and follow up Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks as well as work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment Strong decision-making skills with quality and budget in mind Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel for business needs
