RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience & Skills
At least 5+ years of experience as a Superintendent in commercial construction (10 years preferred)
Proven track record managingprojects across various commercial markets
Strong understanding of commercial construction sequencing, drawings, and specifications
Knowledge of foundations, structural framing, MEP systems, and how systems interact
Familiarity with fire, sprinkler, alarm, and safety systems
Experience working in occupied Class A buildings
Ability to manage multiple smaller projects simultaneously
Strong safety record and experience overseeing self-performed work
Ability to work with urgency while maintaining high quality standards
Excellent communication (verbal and written) and leadership skills
Proficiency in MS Office; Microsoft Project experience preferred
Experience with field-based projectmanagement software, particularly Autodesk or Procore, is highly desirable
Education & Certifications
OSHA 30 preferred (or willing to obtain during training)
LEED Green Associate accreditation or higher is a plus
Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
Valid Driver's License required

Job Description
The Assistant ProjectManager will be a member of VBC's U.S. Project Delivery Team. In this role you will assist with managing the development and execution of a project(s) from early design through manufacturing. Starting with the design phase, you will work cross-functionally with internal departments and stakeholders to help turn the concept into reality. You will use projectmanagement tools, processes, and best practice methodologies to assist in the management scope, schedule, and cost.
This role is ideal for someone with foundational experience in the AEC or manufacturing sectors who is ready to take the next step in their career. You'll work alongside projectmanagers and cross-functional teams to support the delivery of innovative modular construction projects. The role offers hands-on exposure to the full project lifecycle and is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, is highly organized, and is eager to grow into a leadership position over time.
The Assistant ProjectManager is responsible for representing VBC, both internally and externally, in a manner that aligns with our brand and core values.
Key Responsibilities
Project Lifecycle Support
Assisting managingprojects from concept through design, manufacturing, construction, and client handoff under PM supervision.
Prepare, submit, and manage approval of all submittals.
Review submittals for conformance with project specifications.
Monitor and route RFIs to ensure timely and streamlined communication.
Schedule and organize factory and field inspections/punch lists.
Support project closeout documentation compilation and submission.
Schedule Management
Monitor and maintain the project master schedule daily.
Communicate and record potential delays, deviations, risks, and inaccuracies.
Schedule project meetings and generate/distribute meeting minutes.
Documentation and System Management
Maintain project-level file organization within folder structure.
Upload and manage latest design drawings in the projectmanagement system.
Ensure stakeholders are informed of design updates.
Budget and Financial Oversight
Assist in monitoring and maintaining the project budget.
Review client billings against design, manufacturing, and construction progress.
Support review and approval of subconsultant and subcontractor invoices.
Assist in financial and progress reporting to PM leadership.
Internal Cross Functional Leadership
Develop close working relationships with cross-functional team members (e.g., Project Architect, Systems Lead, Procurement Lead).
Support coordination across design, manufacturing, and construction disciplines.
Assist tracking procurement progress to ensure material availability, especially long lead time items
Review project quality assessments from the Manufacturing Quality teams to understand and report on project health during the manufacturing process.
Coordinate with logistics team and all stakeholders to ensure implementation of the shipping and set plan.
Responsible for reporting project health, including budget, schedule, design progress, procurement progress, manufacturing execution, etc.
Communication & Personal Development
Maintain clear communication across all levels-field crews, consultants, executives.
Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Support internal initiatives to improve project delivery processes and operational efficiency.
Work closely with the projectmanagement team to drive lessons learned feedback loop to internal team to improve standardization and efficiency.
Learn and develop skills necessary to independently manageprojects in the future.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, or related field
A minimum of 3 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
Demonstrated ability to read and understand contract drawings: architectural, engineering, required.
Proven written and verbal communication abilities required.
Familiarity with AIA contract documents and exhibits is a plus.
Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with individuals at all levels, both internal and external.
Highly organized and motivated individual.
Positive attitude, ability to motivate both colleagues and all people involved in a project preferred.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Project.
Experience with industry specific software and technology (e.g., SAP, BIM360, Smartsheet).
Ability to work independently.
Additional Information
The Salary Range for this position is $75,000 - $105,000 annual base salary + annual performance bonus. We also off the following benefits:

The Associate ProjectManager will assist the Director with planning, scheduling, coordination and control of the projects from inception to include all pre-construction until the project is transitioned to the Construction team. They will assist with the overall design and preconstruction process for assigned projects. Responsibilities
Ensure that each guest receives outstanding service by creating a friendly environment and following Jackson Rancheria Guest Service Guidelines.
Assist in project planning, budgeting, scheduling and identification of resources needed. This includes project accounting functions including managing the budget, tracking/managing costs and minimizing exposure and risk in the project.
Assist in preparing contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, suppliers and subcontractors.
Assist in developing specifications for construction, repair and modification projects for the purpose of providing them to architects, sub-contractors etc. for selection and awarding of contracts.
Assist in composing/editing Requests for Proposals and Requests for Quotes. Prepare bid analyses and vendor recommendation for approval and contracting.
Preparing conceptual and detailed cost estimates from schematic or feasibility-level documentation.
Develop variance summaries between estimates and value engineering studies.
Participate and often lead the preparation and presentation of cost / budget information to project stakeholders.
Facilitate value engineering sessions with the project team, including external consultants/vendors
Reviewing construction contracts to identify key insurance and damages clauses.
Prepare meeting agendas, take/distribute meeting notes, participate/lead Pre-Construction and OAC meetings.
Review, approve/deny payment applications and invoices.
Prepare project scoping documents with input from project stakeholders.
Complete QA/QC reviews of technical documentation prepared by third parties.
Facilitate and/or attend job site meetings.
Qualifications
Experience in construction process, including architecture and civil project design.
General knowledge of Construction law, practices, and procedures.
Knowledge regarding materials and methods involved in the construction of buildings or other structures, including utilities and roads.
Knowledge of pertinent building, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, fire, energy, accessibility and zoning codes and ordinances and the agencies that have jurisdiction.
Proficiency with reading project plans, specs, contracts, purchase orders, change orders, etc.
The preferred candidate would have a degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Civil Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of ProjectManagement experience.
Pay range: $29.00- $37.70 per hour
*Shift Differential: Non-Exempt employees will receive a $1.00 per hour shift differential for any hours worked between 10:00pm and 6:00am.
