The consultant will play a key role in implementing, configuring, and optimizing SAP PS (and closely related module integrations) to manage complex manufacturing capital projects, equipment installations, upgrades, and maintenance lifecycle - from initial budgeting and planning through execution, costs, and reporting. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP PS for capital equipment manufacturing projects - including project structuring (WBS, networks, milestones), budgeting, cost planning, and financial tracking. Integrate SAP PS with related SAP modules (e.g., MM, PP, FI/CO, PM, QM) to support end-to-end project lifecycle - from procurement of parts, manufacturing of equipment, assembly, testing, packaging/warehousing, to final delivery, installation, and ongoing support. Provide support for capital project cost controlling, variance analysis, capital capitalization, asset tracking (fixed assets), budgeting vs actual reporting, change management and project closure. Participate in process optimization initiatives: help standardize project and manufacturing-equipment lifecycle processes globally, improve transparency in project cost/asset tracking, support scalability for growth (e.g., new manufacturing facilities, global footprint). Provide training, documentation and support to internal stakeholders and global teams to ensure consistent use of SAP PS and best practices. Troubleshoot SAP PS issues, support system enhancements, and implement continuous improvements in project system workflows to align with evolving business needs (e.g., new product lines, equipment upgrades, sustainability tracking, CAPEX management). Required Qualifications: Proven experience implementing SAP Project Systems (PS) in a manufacturing context, ideally within capital-intensive, high-tech, or industrial manufacturing industries. Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, capital equipment procurement/production lifecycle, fixed asset management, cost accounting / cost controlling, capex vs opex management. Experience integrating SAP PS with other SAP modules (e.g., MM, PP, FI/CO, PM, QM) in end-to-end process flows. Ability to gather requirements, lead workshops with technical and business stakeholders, map business processes, configure SAP, and deliver high-quality documentation and trainings. Solid project management skills, including planning, execution, milestone tracking, risk management, and governance. Strong communication skills - able to liaise across functional teams (engineering, finance, operations, supply chain) and across geographies (if global manufacturing footprint). Ideally, experience with global manufacturing firms, tool/equipment manufacturing, or companies supplying capital-intensive industrial equipment. Preferred Qualifications / Nice-to-have: Prior experience supporting semiconductor-equipment manufacturers or high-precision equipment firms. Familiarity with capital project accounting, fixed-asset capitalization, cost-of-goods-sold (COGS) accounting, asset lifecycle tracking. Exposure to global footprint manufacturing: multi-site deployments, standardization of processes across sites, multi-currency or multi-legal-entity environment. Experience with sustainability / ESG reporting requirements or integrating sustainability metrics in project/equipment lifecycle (e.g., tracking energy usage, emissions, lifecycle environmental impact) - useful if company emphasizes sustainable innovation. Change-management and business-process re-engineering experience to support continuous improvement as product mix or global footprint evolves. Responsibilities (Day-to-Day / Key Deliverables): Define and configure project structures (WBS, network, milestones) for new equipment manufacturing and delivery projects. Set up cost planning and budgeting, link procurement, manufacturing orders, asset creation and capitalization processes. Configure and support integration points to procurement (MM), production planning (PP), quality (QM), maintenance/service (PM), and financial accounting (FI/CO), to support full order-to-cash (or order-to-service) lifecycle. Provide reporting dashboards and metrics to project leadership and finance (e.g., capex spend vs budget, cost variances, project profitability, asset status). Support rollout of SAP PS globally (if relevant), tailoring to local rules/regulations, coordinating master data, controlling, compliance, and financial consolidation. Provide training and ongoing support to users; ensure documentation of processes, guidelines, and workflows; maintain version control and process governance.
