What You'll Do:
Manage the Safety Management System (SMS) for RMMR. This includes creating safety plans, procedures, and protocols specific to maintenance and repair projects within the USACE RMMR program. Ensure that the SMS integrates with other corporate functions.
Monitor and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, as well as USACE EM 385-1-1 and service-specific safety standards. Stay updated with regulatory changes and communicate updates to project teams and contractors. Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify potential safety hazards and non-compliance issues. Ensure identified deficiencies and areas for improvement are tracked and trended. Work with project teams and contractors to implement corrective actions. Monitor the effectiveness of corrective measures.
Identify potential safety hazards and assess risks associated with construction activities. Conduct accident hazard analyses (AHAs) and safety assessments to proactively address potential risks. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate hazards and reduce risks to an acceptable level.
Develop and deliver safety training programs to project teams, contractors, and other personnel. Ensure that all workers receive appropriate safety training, including new-hire orientations and specific training for high-risk activities. Promote a culture of safety through awareness campaigns and educational initiatives.
Lead and conduct thorough investigations of safety incidents, accidents, and near-miss events. Identify root causes and contributing factors and recommend corrective actions to prevent future incidents. Prepare and submit incident reports to regulatory agencies as required.
Perform regular safety audits and inspections to assess compliance with safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify deficiencies and areas for improvement, and work with project teams and contractors to implement corrective actions. Monitor the effectiveness of corrective measures.
Develop and implement emergency response plans and procedures. Coordinate with project teams, contractors, and local emergency services to ensure preparedness for potential emergencies. Conduct drills and exercises to test the effectiveness of emergency response plans.
Promote open lines of communication regarding safety matters among project teams, contractors, and regulatory agencies. Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve safety-related issues and foster a proactive safety culture. Participate in safety meetings, committees, and industry organizations to stay informed about safety trends and best practices.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. Familiarity with USACE EM 385-1-1 safety regulations, policies, and guidelines is mandatory. Be comfortable with briefing senior officials and conduct summary status briefings no less than quarterly.
Supervisory:

What You'll Bring:
Must have a bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, engineering, or a related field. Relevant work experience in safety management, preferably in the construction, repair, or maintenance industry, is preferred with a minimum of 5 years safety experience.

Assist the Director of Health and Safety with rolling out new safety initiatives and briefing employees as needed on new or updated policies (e.g., Daily Task Planning, 100% audit compliance, safety training programs).
Educate the workforce and regional leadership on understanding Tremco's safety cultural advancements, such as safety leadership and safety management systems.
Effectively represent our Tremco safety culture with our subcontractors and help Tremco site leadership to ensure complete compliance with our subcontractors with applicable rules and regulations (Federal, State, local, owner, Tremco, and their own).
Act as a subject matter resource for workers within the field in producing a documented assessment of safe working processes, risk potentials, and solutions/corrective measures.

Review the safety obligations of the clients and ensure they are carried out as per the terms of the agreement, and communicate to the Field Leadership and Safety Supervisors.

Ensure that all incidents are reported immediately per the Tremco Incident Notification Policy.
Participate and assist all field leadership in the investigation of incidents to determine the root cause, and take corrective actions where necessary.
Ensure incident corrective actions are followed up on and completed.
Ensure injured workers are offered modified duties, and documentation has been completed.
Monitor and follow up on modified workers in the field.
As a direct report to, regularly communicate safety audit results and/or field safety concerns (e.g., Stop Work Authority) with the Director of Health and Safety and prepare observation reports as needed.
At minimum must have 30 Hr. OSHA Training. (With willingness to get 500 Hr. OSHA Training to operate asan official component of the OSHA Construction Outreach Program.)
Ensure all new employees within the Region meet their training objectives, e.g., complete their Day 1 Orientation, iLead New Employee Training, and Tremco (OSHA) Construction 10 Hr. Training within 1 month of their employment.
Qualifications:
An Occupational Health and Safety Degree, Diploma, or Nationally Recognized Safety Certification or Designation is a mandatory requirement.

Independently summarize Unit activity, conduct periodic reviews with Unit, Department & Division management to confirm new model status. This includes Supplier and Cost strategy items.
Create and manage new model cost targets through cost correlation activity with design, effectively managing performance and implementing countermeasure plans accordingly (annual supplier spend $3.2B/$38M investment).
Accurately roll-up cost (piece price and investment) for each NM event, and report cost and project status at New Model Evaluations to Procurement and Design Leadership
Report departments project status, clarifying risk and path forward at New Model evaluations (Cost Evaluations, We Are Ready) to Procurement Senior Management
Communicate and collaborate across DEB areas of the business to share ideas and reach consensus. Share project requirements to Department team and suppliers
Develop and manage the coordination of cost table activity for use in supplier negotiation
Mentor associates within group on problem solving, procedures, and fostering development
Who we are seeking:
Required Work Experience:
8+ Years of Purchasing, Sales, Quality Control, or Engineering experience
Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business/Supply Chain or related field

Additional Position Factors:
Domestic and International (1-2 weeks) travel may be required (10%)
