Sincere employees who are trying to make a difference.
This was a horrible place to work. The CEO is paid over $300k and does not value people of color, or people who are different from her. Almost all of her management team are the same religion as she is. She treats people of color differently; multiple people witnessed this.
Nothing
The CEO is toxic and racist. New leadership would greatly help Project Sunshine.
Reviewing website and reading about the program.
Below average salaries. Raises are limited, so whatever your starting salary is, it's probably going to stay near there.
Non-white, LGBTQ and other employees are treated poorly and usually do not stay long.
It's a toxic work place, so not a lot of pluses about working here. I did meet some nice employees, but turnover is constant because so many employees are unhappy.
Inequity is especially bad with the five employees who are stationed in Kenya - all of them except one are actually volunteers who are paid a stipend for travel and food, not a salary or wage. Their photos are used on the staff page to make it look like there is diversity. Leadership needs to go through diversity and racism counseling. Staff of color have been targeted and a subjected to inappropriate comments.
The benefits were the worst of anywhere I worked. Entry level and junior employees are not given many benefits.
