We are seeking candidates for Senior Project Superintendent for our Fishers, IN office. Experience in supervision of self-performed concrete and carpentry on large scale vertical projects (over 5MM, up to 100MM) required.

Ideal candidates will have a minimum 15 years of progressive field construction experience, typically as a trades worker, foreperson, Project Superintendent, or other related role, including at least 5 years of experience in a field supervisory role. BA/BS/AS or other accredited degree may substitute for up to 4 years of experience. High level of technical knowledge and problem-solving capabilities equivalent to that derived from construction or engineering-related training. Proficiency in reading plans and specifications and must have overall knowledge of construction industry, i.e., mechanical, electrical, etc. Demonstrated ability to thoroughly understand project finances. Demonstrated effective verbal, written, skills. Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills. Must hold a valid driver’s license and motor vehicle record must meet standards of insurability. Demonstrated ability to use various software applications including: PM software (ProCore preferred), Microsoft Suite, including ability to understand cost spreadsheets, aging report, labor productivity report. Must be familiar with contract administration, Requests for Information, Schedule of Values, preparation and adjustment to monthly billings, preparation of construction schedules including predecessors, successors, constraints, float and lags.

We are growing in the Sioux Falls market and are looking for an experienced Project Superintendent to join our team.

The Project Superintendent ensures quality and cost controls on each project, while ensuring customer satisfaction by identifying and exceeding client's needs through direction of daily operations. This individual needs to have the ability to interact with a variety of staff at all levels in an ever-changing environment, remaining flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient with a high level of professionalism.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Representing APX's vision, mission, and experience Responsible for oversight of all field operations on your projects Responsible for coordinating, directing, and supervising the quality of work and direct labor Coordinating materials and equipment needed Ensure that the requirements of the project are met with respect to safety, schedule, quality control and cost control Resolve site issues that may be out of the control of the project managers Managing multiple projects concurrently Directing the work of each foreman and crew under you, according to owner, GC and architect requirements Mentoring and managing project foreman through the life of a project Maintaining consistent and effective communication with all team members including leadership of on site, crew discussions Responsibility for your project field cost controls Quickly and professionally resolving all issues that may arise with the project on the jobsite and notifying the appropriate parties Acting as a hospitable point of contact between vendors and owners/GC throughout job scope, communicating effectively on a day-to-day basis to ensure the delivery of excellent projects Ensuring minimal impact on the jobsite and a zero-punch list through continual communication with field employees Owning the job by consistently reviewing plans, drawings, specifications, and communicating with all team members


Minimum Qualifications


Education/Experience


3+ years of experience as a construction superintendent or in a similar position in construction management Valid driver's license
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


Ability to read, understand and implement project plans and documents Ability to multitask and exercise independent judgment related to the daily administration of projects Proven communication skills; both written and verbal Aptitude to anticipate problems and identify solutions Ability to communicate highly detailed information between project managers, foreman, field crew, subcontractors, and architects/engineers Able to work in a team environment and foster positive and professional relationships Highly organized and disciplined Knowledge of construction related equipment and proper use


Physical Requirements


Required to sit for long periods of time; stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, stoop.


Environment


Work is performed indoors (job-site trailer/office) and outdoors (construction site). Travel required as needed.

Project Superintendent (Statewide Maine): We are seeking safety minded, highly motivated, self-starter to manage, schedule, track costs, and oversee single or multiple road construction and paving/milling projects throughout Maine. Responsibilities include but not limited to: scheduling, cost control and tracking, communication and the ability to assist with traffic control when needed. The right candidate should have a background in drainage, grades, layout, figuring pavement tonnages and yields, milling quantities, and trucking.Knowledge in the use of GPS layout and grade control is a benefit but not required. Classification: Year round weekly salary.

Requirements:

Must be committed to providing and promoting a safe work environment. Minimum of three (3) years prior experience in paving, milling and road construction. The ability to work effectively in a high pressure, multi-tasking environment. Manage administrative duties in a timely manner and be able to work independently. The willingness to travel to other Pike locations throughout Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont when needed. Extended hours with possible night and/or weekend work as well as overnights. A valid driver's license.
