Position Summary
The Medical Assistant (MA) serves as a patient care coordinator and advocate, maintaining clinical supplies, documentation, and optimal patient flow to ensure a positive patient experience. This role follows OSHA/WISHA and other compliance and regulatory guidelines.

We are hiring Certified Medical Assistants (CMA), Registered Medical Assistants (MA-R), or CertifiedNursingAssistants (CNA). For MA-R and CNA candidates, on-the-job training will be provided to help you grow into the full scope of the role.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The key duties and responsibilities of the Medical Assistant include, but are not limited to:
Direct Patient Care
Prepare exam rooms, instruments, and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and sufficient supplies.
Dispose of contaminated materials and sterilize medical instruments per infection control standards.
Obtain vital signs, patient history, and chief complaints.
Position patients for exams and procedures.
Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
Perform other patient care duties as assigned.
Procedural Support
Assist providers with in-office procedures, maintaining a sterile field and aseptic technique.
Position or hold patients as needed during procedures or imaging.
Hand instruments to the provider and assist as directed.
Documentation & Communication
Accurately chart all relevant information in the electronic medical record (EMR).
Report test results to patients per physician instruction.
Handle patient calls, post-op follow-ups, and voicemail messages promptly (preferably same day, within 24 business hours).
Maintain thorough documentation of all encounters and communications.
Coordinate diagnostic testing and care with other facilities as ordered.
Complete patient disability and FMLA forms.
Facilitate communication with referring providers and specialists.
Clinic Operations
Maintain and restock supplies and equipment.
Support team duties and assist with special tasks as assigned.
Education/Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred - on-the-job training available for MA-R and CNA candidates
Current Washington State Medical Assistant-Certified (MA-C) or CertifiedNursingAssistant (CNA) license preferred. We will assist with obtaining Medical Assistant - Registered (MA-R) for unlicensed candidates.
1-2 years of medical office experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Basic knowledge of medical terminology and medications
Familiarity with electronic medical records preferred
Basic computer proficiency and accurate data entry
Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
Ability to maintain professionalism, empathy, and confidentiality (HIPAA compliance)
Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities
Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced clinical environment
Demonstrated commitment to teamwork, learning, and quality patient care

The key duties and responsibilities of the Medical Assistant include, but are not limited to:
Assist in providing direct patient care for office visit patients may involve:
Arranging the exam room instruments and equipment and maintaining supplies
The disposal of contaminated supplies and sterilizing medical instruments
Positioning patients for exams and procedures
Collecting and preparing laboratory specimens
Obtaining vitals, patient history and chief complaints
Other patient care related duties as necessary
Assist provider within clinic procedures may involve
Preparing patient exam, dressing and/or procedural areas by using vigorous aseptic technique.
Holding patients in position for extended periods of time, manipulating body parts, using instruments to hold procedural or imaging areas immobile, or positioning patients on tables
Handing provider instruments while standing for long periods of time
Report test results to patients as indicated by physician in a timely manner
Chart all vital information in electronic record as well as check to be sure all information related to medication, health history and reason for visit is obtained and documented
Perform phone triage, post-op calls and respond to voicemail messages directed to them preferably within same business day, but no later than 24 business hours, and perform action required.
Documents all encounters.
Maintain patient documentation for visit and communications in person or over the phone
Coordinate care and diagnostic testing at other facilities as indicated by physician
Assist provider in e-scribing, maintaining medication list
Assist provider in maintaining communication with referring doctors
Maintain equipment and ensure supplies are stocked and in place
Follow all other daily team duties and special tasks as assigned
Education/Experience
High school graduate or equivalent
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program preferred, but not required. Will provide training
Current Washington State Medical AssistantCertification preferred, but not required (see above)
1-2 years' experience in a medical office preferred
Occupational Medicine experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Basic knowledge of medical terminology and medications
Familiarity with or working knowledge of Electronic Medical Records a plus
Basic computer knowledge and skills, including data entry
