Job Summary: This job is responsible for performing MR functions in accordance with ARRT or ARMRIT standards and ethics. Incumbent must be proficient with computer applications, with an emphasis on technical systems, strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, pathophysiology, and magnetic resonance physics. MR Technologist performs duties under the general supervision of Site Manager, MRI Modality Specialist and the Radiologist. Utilizes Hitachi Open MRI and Siemens Symphony scanners Obtains a thorough patient history as it related to the exam to be completed. Accurately implements the orders of the referring physician, producing images with minimum repeatability. Performs IV punctures. Performs necessary computer functions associated with patient exam. Post-Procedure Care: Assist the patient off the MRI table after the procedure and ensure they are stable and comfortable. Provide post-procedure instructions, including the use of any follow-up treatments, care for injection sites (if contrast agents were used), and any other aftercare instructions. Ensure that any required post-scan imaging or additional scans are scheduled as necessary. Address any immediate concerns or side effects the patient may experience, especially if contrast agents were administered. Maintenance and Equipment Care: Ensure that the MRI machine is regularly calibrated and functioning correctly, performing basic maintenance and troubleshooting when necessary. Clean and disinfect the MRI suite and equipment between patients to adhere to infection control protocols. Monitor equipment performance, identify malfunctions or issues, and alert the appropriate staff for repairs or servicing. Collaboration with Medical Team: Communicate effectively with physicians, radiologists, and other medical staff to ensure the correct images are obtained and the patient's needs are met. The MRI Technologist operates magnetic resonance imaging equipment to produce quality images to assist the physicians to diagnose and treat our patients. Schedule Thursday and Friday, 6am-5pm Key Duties and Responsibilities The key duties and responsibilities of the MRI Technologist include, but are not limited to: Performs and accurately completes all examinations on MRI and radiography equipment as needed, following clinic practices and procedures. Pre-screens patients with the assistance of the MRI receptionist and screens patients prior to performing the MRI procedure Provides appropriate and thoughtful patient care in an empathetic manner. Acts professionally in interactions with patients and coworkers. Interacts and consults with referring providers who may have questions regarding any MRI patient or issue Communicate directly with NOIA to correct any imaging issues Exercises discretion and integrity in dealing with confidential information Ability to distinguish emergency patient situations and handle them appropriately Performs and accurately completes all Radiology Information System (RICS)/Picture Archive and Communication System (PACS) documentation as needed for patient care.
