We are seeking a motivated Mold Maker to join the team at our brand-new product development facility in Plymouth, MN. This role will provide an opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of mold building and will provide opportunities for future growth, training, and development. The primary responsibilities of this role are to build injection molds and related tools/components which are manufactured and maintained to a high degree of quality. This is an intermediate level role and will work closely with and under direction of other senior Mold Makers. The Mold Maker ensures ProMed's brand, philosophy, systems, policies, and procedures are properly implemented and observed. Schedule: Flexible day shift hours. Shift typically starts between 4:00 a.m. - 8:00 a.m. Get out early on Fridays! ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: * Fabricate precision injection molds from CAD models and drawings that meet dimensional specifications and quality standards, ensuring manufacturing processes achieve required tolerances * Collaborate with senior mold makers to gain further experience with all aspects of mold building, maintenance/repairs, and injection molding * Independently set up, program, and operate multiple types of CNC machining equipment including 3 and 5-axis mills, sinker EDM, and grinders with minimal supervision, producing precise medical injection molds that meet tight tolerances * Modifies or repairs existing molds, fixtures, etc. in accordance with engineering drawings, solid models, or verbal instructions. * Conduct comprehensive quality inspections of in-process and finished mold components to ensure conformance with engineering specifications and customer requirements * Maintain machining equipment with routine preventative maintenance to ensure optimal performance and minimize production downtime * Contribute to individual and team continuous improvement activities * Observe and adhere to all safety expectations, procedures, and regulations * Ensure tool room is maintained in a clean and orderly manner daily * Other Duties as Needed: Any other duties and tasks as deemed necessary and appropriate QUALIFICATION, EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. This position is responsible for new equipment installation and troubleshooting for all equipment within the facility in order to maintain maximum output with appropriate quality. This position is also involved in the Preventative Maintenance (PM) and safety programs. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Maintain, repair and troubleshoot boilers, HVAC and other plant systems. Perform repairs and/or replace defective parts using hand tools and power tools and reassemble equipment. Monitors start up to insure a smooth transition to operations. Coordinate and participate in PM (preventative maintenance) tasks on a daily, weekly, monthly basis. Perform troubleshooting of equipment issues and perform maintenance on all of the facility equipment in order to correct problems. Accurately assess when to call in additional support from other maintenance team members and management. Perform needed testing of equipment and make corrective adjustments to eliminate upsets during production. Understand and be able to train others on the processes for machine repair in all areas of the facility. Document all adjustments and repairs made to the machines during the shift. Cross-trained to troubleshoot all equipment issues and repair. Ability to perform all tasks and duties of the Preventative Maintenance Technician. Promote GMP compliance and help correct GMP issues. Promote quality awareness and help correct quality issues. Monitor downtime and communicate with the Manager/Supervisor when standards are not met. Understand the product specs and operating standards by customer product and implement the necessary equipment for the departments. Basic use of hand tools ranging from common hand and power tools to precision measuring equipment and electrical and electronic testing devices. Install and repair wiring electrical and electronic components, high-pressure systems, and plumbing. (steam, air, water, wastewater, etc.) Learn, understand, train to, develop and follow documented policies, procedures, and work procedures and drive others to do so. Maintain downtime data on the daily productivity board. Assist in maintaining detailed and organized data records for the department. Assist in the development of work instructions, training, and auditing team members, and assisting in special projects. Responsible for being in compliance with all right to know, lock-out, tag-out, and other safety training. Maintain good housekeeping and an orderly work area. Support 5S initiatives. Document and monitor procedures and processes to eliminate variation and promote sharing of knowledge. Assist in the implementation of productivity improvements. Interact and function effectively in a high-performance team environment. Operate basic machine fabricating equipment such as a lathe and mill in order to repair equipment or build parts for emergency repairs. Source and order parts in catalogs or online. Provide information to the Manager/Supervisor for approvals. Support and assist as needed in maintaining and improving the maintenance department. Initiate and support continuous improvement and elimination of waste and variation in processes using established improvement processes. Must develop cooperative relationships with other departments. This position provides management and coordination of the maintenance activities associated with the following: all plant electrical control and mechanical systems, which are associated with plant utility, production operations, equipment and processing. The position will provide technical assistance and training for the maintenance staff and will actively interface with the Engineering and Plant Operations managers. The Maintenance Manager will advise and work with Operations management to resolve critical control and processing capability issues. A thorough knowledge of processing, plant mechanical and automation is expected to successfully manage this position. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Strong leadership skills are required. The individual should be self-directed with minimal supervision required, Responsible for effective employee management duties including manpower utilization, timelines, scheduling and conflict resolution and able to communicate effectively with the maintenance staff. Able to evaluate the performance and abilities of the maintenance staff, set realistic employee objectives, and provide the support necessary to reach these goals in accordance with the company's needs and directives. Convey pertinent status information regarding work orders, repairs and maintenance activities to Operations leadership. Develop and implement an ongoing Preventive Maintenance program utilizing our Accruent Maintenance Connection software for proper documentation and procedural requirements. This will include establishing equipment requirements, manpower, and time intervals to generate schedules for equipment overhauls, major inspections, etc. Utilize the MP2 Maintenance Software to report and analyze labor efficiency, equipment deficiencies, and to establish required inventory levels of spare and repair parts. Manage all equipment changes/installations to ensure timely and in-budget completion of all projects. Provide technical training and support for all plant employees involving electrical, control and automation. Adopt a formal approach to engineering matters and use 'Critical Path Analysis" for planning and implementing projects both internally and with outside contractors. Must have the ability to design automation network systems such as: DH-4&5, DH+ and Ethernet to tie in PLC systems and devices. Responsible for developing SCADA, MMI, historical trending and database transfer applications controlling plant processes or equipment. Required to have a working fluent knowledge of software packages on a personal computer i.e.: Excel, Word, NT 4.0, Access, Project Manager, Rockwell RS software and Auto Cad 14, 15. Manage all electrical control changes/installations utilizing up to date Project Management techniques to ensure timely and in-budget completion of all projects Maintain a thorough knowledge and understanding of all processes and mechanical systems. Keep accurate and up to date records of all electrical, PLC programs and control systems to insure operational efficiency and minimal downtime. Utilize the services of equipment and system suppliers to maximize operational efficiency at all Balchem locations. Collaborate with facility management to define technical needs and capital improvement requirements, recommend capital projects and assist in the execution and startup of projects, responsible for operational performance of new installations, product scale ups Develop, maintain, and implement local engineering practices, standards, and management systems in accordance with Process Safety Management to include Process Safety Information, Management of Change, and Mechanical Integrity programs Support all new product introductions and trials; assist in the development of new products and processes Attend seminars and courses when needed to maintain up to date knowledge. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor s degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field (preferred). 5+ years of maintenance experience in a food manufacturing environment. 2+ years in a supervisory or management role. Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automation systems. Experience with CMMS and maintenance planning tools. Familiarity with food safety and regulatory standards. We are seeking a motivated Mold Maker to join the team at our brand-new product development facility in Plymouth, MN. This role will provide an opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of mold building and will provide opportunities for future growth, training, and development. The primary responsibilities of this role are to build injection molds and related tools/components which are manufactured and maintained to a high degree of quality. This is an intermediate level role and will work closely with and under direction of other senior Mold Makers. The Mold Maker ensures ProMed's brand, philosophy, systems, policies, and procedures are properly implemented and observed. Schedule: Flexible day shift hours. The Project Engineer II coordinates projects to develop manufacturing processes for complex dosage pharmaceuticals and combination medical devices. Responsible for planning and coordinating technical tasks associated with feasibility work, equipment definition, testing, and documentation. Works with management to support relationships with customers. This position operates under minimal guidance from management or senior staff. The Project Engineer II ensures ProMed's brand, philosophy, systems, policies, and procedures are properly implemented and observed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Position duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Lead and contribute to projects (75%) * Partner with Business Development to create feasibility proposals and plans * Lead small teams to complete feasibility work * May simultaneously lead multiple early-stage feasibility projects * Take ownership of portions of large development projects * Ensure team uses the Process Development Procedure * Collaborate with internal and customer teams to generate ideas and solve technical problems * Plan, design, and execute experiments in laboratory and clean room environments * Analyze data to help drive team and customer decisions * Execute equipment and process qualification and validation * Develop manufacturing procedures, test methods, standard operating procedures, and protocols * May guide work of technicians and/or less senior staff Document and communicate (25%) * Maintain thorough and compliant laboratory notebooks * Author reports and presentations for internal teams and clients * Communicate effectively with internal teams and customers * Provide timely communication on project progress to immediate team and supervisor This job also requires performing other duties as assigned.
