Department: Cardiology Weekly Hours: 40 Status: Full time Shift: Days (United States of America) As a Certified Medical Assistant at ProMedica, you will work directly with patients and providers to deliver clinical excellence and enhanced patient experience. You will prepare patients for visits by taking and documenting vital signs, performing specialized tests and preparing schedules. Job Details Physician Office | Kettering | Full-Time | First Shift Responsibilities & Requirements Under the supervision of the provider and/or practice manager, assists and delivers patient care duties, and provides administrative support throughout the practice. This position assists the provider in examination and treatment of patients, performing miscellaneous delegated duties under the direction of provider. This position also interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information in patients' charts. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients. The position will be cross-trained to perform duties to enhance efficiency and continuity of delivery of patient care. Educational requirements: * MA/CMA: Within 15 months from date of hire, continued employment will require successful attainment and retention of one of the following certification/registration CCMA, CMA (AAMA), NCMA, RMA (through AMT) or RMA (through ARMA) plus documented completion of a Medical Assisting program through an accredited institution of higher learning. * May be hired with six months of experience as a STNA, but are not able to administer medication or enter Epic orders until acceptable credentialed medical assistant certification is obtained. * LPN: Graduate of accredited LPN program (or equivalent) with current Ohio license. Job Details Physician Office | Kettering | Full-Time | First Shift Responsibilities & Requirements Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the physician, APP and registered nurse: * Assists in providing care and performing office functions. * Give instructions to patients as instructed by doctor/nurse. * Takes blood pressure, pulse, temperature and respiration. * Assists patients any time need is apparent or as directed by the nurse or physician(s). * Assists with any procedures that have been taught through formal training or by licensed nurse or physician(s). * Assists in lab procedures under the supervision of physician(s) and nurse and for which training has been given. * Keeps medical records in accordance to procedures and forms. * Follows principles of medical ethics for medical assistant. * Keep rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies. * May be requested to substitute for other office personnel and conduct responsibilities of receptionist/front desk. * Any other assigned duties by physician(s), nurses or manager.
