* Process and track expense reports, mileage logs, and reimbursement.
* Assist with purchase orders and ensure proper documentation.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Serve as a liaison between Foundation staff, hospital leadership, and community partners to support fundraising goals.
* Provide flexible support across Foundation teams for special projects and initiatives.
* Coordinate Net Asset Release spending, when needed, in collaboration with Fund Specialists to support donor-funded initiatives.
* Take on additional tasks as directed by Executive Directors to support fundraising success.

The Community Liaison serves as a vital connector between our healthcare services and the community. This role is responsible for driving business development and managing both inbound and outbound communications. Business Development & Outreach:
Identify opportunities for in-services in the health care community and coordinate their implementation with appropriate persons
Build and maintain strong relationships with referral sources such as hospitals, physician offices, senior living communities, and other healthcare providers.
Identify and pursue new business opportunities to grow patient census across service lines.
Represent the organization at community events, health fairs, and professional networking functions.
Patient & Family Engagement:
Educate patients, families, caregivers, and legal representatives (POAs, guardians) on the benefits and services offered through Hospice.
Serve as a compassionate and knowledgeable resource to guide families through the enrollment process.
Communication & Coordination:
Develop relationships with medical staff offices, hospitals and nursing homes; act as a consultant to medical staff and hospital committees, as required to provide hospice and end-of-life information
Facilitate seamless communication between referral sources and internal clinical teams.
Ensure timely follow-up on referrals and maintain accurate documentation of outreach activities.
Market Leadership:
Provide formal and informal education opportunities with physicians, physician office staff, hospital social workers/discharge planners/patient unit staff, nursing home staff and staff in community agencies.
Collect and analyze data of referral patterns from all referral sources, to include physicians, social workers, discharge planners, hospital vs community physicians and SNFs.
Maintain a thorough knowledge of the community's health care market, competition, consumer demands and governmental policies which influence the agency's outreach goals and access for patients/families
Act as the face of the organization in the local market, promoting brand awareness and trust.
Monitor market trends and competitor activity to inform strategic planning.
Skills and Experience Required
Proven experience in healthcare marketing, sales, or community outreach-preferably in home health, hospice, or a related field.
Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed performance goals and key performance indicators (KPIs). This includes:
Referral volume targets
Patient admission and conversion rates
Community engagement metrics
Timely follow-up and documentation standards
Relationship development with referral sources
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
Knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and other payer sources is a plus.

Participates as a member of the interdisciplinary team (IDT), including the development and implementation of the plan of care.
Promotes the use of volunteers as an intervention to support patient care needs.
Actively recruits, hires, trains, supervises, and retains volunteers to support the administrative and patient care needs of the program and Compassus.
Adheres to common human resource policies in recruitment and selection processes.
Ensures prospective volunteers are interviewed and complete all mandated background and health screenings prior to being offered a position as a volunteer.
Performs initial and ongoing competency evaluations to verify training and support needs.
Maintains records of all recruitment and retention activities.
Maintains accurate record of volunteer utilization as a percentage of overall patient care hours as mandated by regulations.
Effectively communicates patient and family needs to IDT.
Provides education about volunteer services and role of the volunteer to members of the IDT.
Prepares reports, in-services, and other documents to demonstrate the value and effectiveness of the volunteer program as requested.
Utilizes a variety of means to communicate with and retain active volunteers, which may include: newsletters; email campaigns; gatherings/celebratory events; meetings.
Delivers high quality training for new volunteers.
Delivers at least 4 in-services per year for active volunteers.
Manages volunteer services through accountable awareness of volunteer utilization, documentation and plan of care involvement.
Assigns patient care and administrative volunteers, providing oversight for activity and documentation requirements.
Develops and performs public service announcements regarding hospice volunteerism.
Performs the role of the patient care volunteer when needed to support plan of care interventions.
Operates within established budgetary guidelines and manages expenses of volunteer program.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED required.
Colleague degree (AS or BS) preferred.
Experience in Social Services, Human Services, Resource Management or related field is preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience desired.
Prior experience managing volunteer services or non-profit organization is a plus.
Skills
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.

Essential Functions:
⦁ Recruits, screens and trains new volunteer counselors; provides guidance and support during training, internship and initial placement of those who are registered with the California Department of Aging (CDA). Responsible for documenting and inputting internship training hours in SHARP (Peer Place) within a timely manner.
⦁ Provides on-site observations of volunteer counselors to evaluate their skill level and interactions with clients, documents observation and reports it to the Program Manager; provides technical assistance to interns and registered counselors regarding Medicare topics or program procedures as needed.
⦁ Provides ongoing training to interns, administrative volunteers and registered counselors in using the state-mandated SHARP system; this also includes answering their questions about the database throughout the year. Responsible for creating SHARP usernames and staying in compliance with CDA guidelines for SHARP users, and troubleshooting volunteers' problems with the database.
⦁ Substitutes for volunteer counselors at counseling sites when needed.
⦁ Responsible monthly for updating counselor's files in SHARP by inputting volunteer hours in it; this includes in-service hours and non-counseling hours by the 15th of every month for the previous month. Updates volunteer files as needed throughout the year.
⦁ By the 5th of every month, verifies counselors have entered their client intakes in SHARP for the previous month; responsible for contacting the counselors who haven't done so by emailing them and keeping an updated spreadsheet regarding the missing intakes.
⦁ Assists in maintaining up-to-date contact information for volunteers, interns, and counseling sites; updates the volunteer roster and WAAG quarterly or as needed. Contacts counseling sites quarterly to determine site closures in the upcoming months.
⦁ Identifies potential counseling sites in target areas and initiates a conversation with the Site Coordinator about hosting HICAP counseling there. Revises the counseling site agreement as needed. Responsible for getting counseling site agreements signed yearly.
⦁ Responsible for training staff on the HICAP centralized appointment system (Google Calendar), including appointment confirmation with clients, HICAP counselors and site notification.
⦁ Performs all duties necessary to assist the Program Manager in ensuring program compliance with its contractual obligations regarding the volunteer component of the program.
⦁ Responsible for the coordination of volunteer events and training; such as in-service and recognition events. This also includes developing, printing and editing printed materials, refreshments, confirmation of trainers/speakers, setting up PowerPoint equipment and other duties needed.
⦁ Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
⦁ Bachelor's degree or equivalent training with a minimum of two years of experience working in senior services, preferably in a non-profit setting. Experience in counseling and/or working with volunteers is preferred.
⦁ Must complete HICAP counselor training and/or registration within 6 to 12 months of employment, depending on program needs.
⦁ Knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal, Medigap, managed care, long-term care insurance and health care delivery systems preferred.
⦁ Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills; and experience in group presentations. Bilingual in English and Chinese/Spanish preferred.
⦁ Must be self-motivated, organized and able to multitask under minimal supervision.

Aspire Indiana Health is a nonprofit provider of comprehensive “whole health” services including primary medical care, behavioral health, recovery services and programs addressing the social drivers of health such as housing and employment. Aspire has health centers in four Central Indiana counties serving Hoosiers of all ages and walks of life.
Position Summary
The Volunteer Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Aspire's volunteer program, from recruitment and training to scheduling and ongoing support. This role is crucial in bridging the gap between organizational leadership and volunteers, ensuring clear understanding of tasks, providing continuous assistance, and fostering a positive and enriching experience for everyone involved. Key responsibilities include comprehensive volunteer management (recruitment to retention), administrative duties, and evaluating the program's overall impact.
This grant-funded position requires flexibility, as it extends
beyond the standard 8:00 am - 5:00 pm, Monday - Friday, 40-hour work week.
Education/Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree from a college/university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education highly preferred
Two (2) years of related experience required
Event planning or project management experience highly preferred
Certification
Must obtain Certified Volunteer Administration (CVA) certificate within 6 months of hire

Must possess/maintain a valid driver's license, current automobile insurance and a driving record that meets the guidelines and requirements of the organization
Must have reliable transportation to attend trainings and/or meetings

3. Cross-Functional Collaboration
* Serve as a liaison between Foundation staff, hospital leadership, and community partners to support fundraising goals.
* Provide flexible support across Foundation teams for special projects and initiatives.
* Coordinate Net Asset Release spending, when needed, in collaboration with Fund Specialists to support donor-funded initiatives.
* Take on additional tasks as directed by Executive Directors to support fundraising success.
