Job Summary:

This position collects, inspects, and inventories all personal property of incoming inmates. It requires familiarity with policies, procedures and practices established by the organization. The sensitive nature of the position requires the incumbent to exercise discretion and retain confidentiality of information obtained by discussions or recorded data.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

* Adheres to all policies, procedures, and specific facility regulations including posted special orders and instructions.
* Assists with data entry and maintenance of computerized files.
* Collects, inspects and inventories all personal property of incoming inmates when they first arrive at the facility.
* Provides inmates with a receipt for all personal property stored for them, pursuant to facility policy.
* Maintains inmate personal property in a safe and secure manner until their release from custody.
* Develops and submits required reports relative to inmates' stored property, as well as other reports as required.
* Prepares property for the release of inmates.
* Assists in the inmate release process as required.
* Responds to incoming telephone calls and takes messages in the absence of management personnel.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

The Personal Property Clerk is responsible for performing various general clerical task such as data entry, filing documents, answering multi-line phones/voicemail systems, scheduling reviewing records, producing reports. The Personal Property Clerk is required to comprehend workplace operations such as external and internal policies and procedures. Under the supervision of the Supervisor assist military and civilian members in a professional, friendly and hospitable manner.
Responsibilities

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:

+ Gathers, complies, and verifies information and performs data entry.

+ Follows clearly detailed procedures in completing several repetitive clerical steps performed in a prescribed or varied sequence, such as data entry, filing, operating basic office equipment (i.e. photocopier, facsimile, multi-line phone/voicemail systems, and minimal computer programs.

+ Questions the applicant as to their needs and the services he /she desires, i.e., method of shipment desired, mode of shipment, estimate of effects to be shipped and their weight, data on unusual items that would require special handling; date pick up desired; date required at destination, etc.

+ Review all application request for shipment or PPM moves ensuring all paperwork follows the regulations and guidelines of the Transportation Division.

+ Receive and reviews applicant's orders to determine if shipment or storage may be authorized at Government expense in accordance with current regulations.

+ Selects from alternative methods and refers problems not solvable by adapting or interpreting substantive guides, manuals or procedures.

+ Assists in a variety of administrative matters including, but not limited to, verifying statistical reports for accuracy and completeness, compiling information, scheduling, and handling and adjusting complaints.

+ Utilizes experience and knowledge to determine the clerical steps (type of sequence) to be used, depending on the task. Recognized problems are referred to others.

+ Assists in inventories.

+ Other duties may be assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives.

+ Job duties and responsibilities may change due to contractual requirements.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

+ Function in an office or warehouse environment in a stationary position.

+ May be exposed to outside weather such as exposure to heat, cold, and warehouse environments.

Mission Statement

Jacobs provides field, range, testing, chemical, and biological laboratory support to the U.S. Army at the West Desert Test Center (WDTC) located at Dugway Proving Ground (DPG), UT. As a major test site for the U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command, the WDTC is responsible for the test and evaluation of chemical and biological (CB) defense systems, incendiary and smoke/obscuration munitions systems, and related operational concepts.

In addition to these responsibilities, we also support non-CB testing at the WDTC for the DOD and other Federal agencies, including environmental assessment/impact evaluation and munitions demilitarization.

Our Dugway Operation was established in 2004 with the award of the Field, Range, Chamber, and Laboratory Support Services (FRC&LSS) contract to Jacobs. Through the FRC&LSS contract, we have integrated with Mellor Engineering, TOPE, and JRAD with a composite staff size of more than 170 personnel.

Job Description

JACOBS is looking for a candidate with experience and able to perform various types of tasks, including but not limited to:

Should have experience as a tool and parts attendant, knowledge with government property management and associated property management documentation. Must have experience in receipt/storage/issue of equipment, materials, supplies, and tools. Experience in requisition processes and requisition documentation. Must be able to lift/carry at least 50 lbs.

Forklift experience, excellent driving record, preferred Commercial Driver's License with Hazmat Endorsement.

GCSS- (Global Combat support System- Army) knowledge and experience. Experience and knowledge of loading, unloading, hauling, and shipping of Compressed Gas Cylinders.

Here's What You'll Need:

Education and Experience:

* Must have experience in maintaining records and conducting inventories of accountable property, plus specialized training in computerized inventory systems.

Essential Functions

Physical Requirements:

Medium- Exerts up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.

Work Environment:

Generally an outdoor environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.

An inside environment may be a cubicle (considerations: close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting).

Outside work may include various environmental conditions including hot and cold climates.

Needs to be able to work well with co-workers and all levels of management.

Attendance:
