What will you do?
Creates compelling sales proposals, presentations, sell sheets, executive summaries, and other sales collateral, customized as needed to reflect the unique needs and circumstances of a buyer. Owns and facilitates the bid proposal process by coordinating the response to Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) with internal stakeholders. Meets proposal deadline by establishing priorities and target dates for information gathering, writing, review, and approval; coordinating requirements with contributors; writing and assembling proposal requirements; facilitating approvals; and transmitting proposals. Facilitates project strategy discussions including kickoff and draft review calls. Develops proposal strategy by performing due diligence, studying RFP, identifying and clarifying opportunities and needs, and collaborating with account owners. Gathers proposal information by identifying sources of information; coordinating submissions and collections; identifying and communicating risks associated with proposals. Re-writes/edits proposal contributions from a variety of stakeholders, including sales, marketing, technical/operations teams, finance, and legal. Writes persuasively, including original content or customizes existing content for prospects and clients. Provides additional support for the sales team, including due diligence, client references, program descriptions, industry information, and additional support as needed. Ensures 100% compliance with deadlines and submission requirements. Adheres to ARI's brand voice, templates, style guidelines, and messaging methodology. Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Proposal Writer to join our team in the Cranford, NJ, office. The Senior Proposal Writer is responsible for the preparation of written bid proposals, statements of qualifications, and expressions of interest, as well as other marketing or business-related material. Responsibilities include managing and coordinating proposals, writing, editing, design of layout and graphics, and execution of all phases of proposal production. This role requires a general understanding of the heavy civil and marine construction sectors, technical writing capability, experience with complex federal government and commercial requests for proposal (RFPs), and marketing acumen. The Senior Proposal Writer will have the ability to meet critical deadlines, establish internal deliverables from the project team and provide detailed follow-through. This position will report to the Business Development Manager and work closely with the Estimating Department on a variety of exciting pursuits.
Essential Job Functions
● Read and review client RFPs, identifying the proposal requirements and selection criteria.
● Create compliance matrices, question logs, and production schedules for large proposals.
● Collaborate with team members to clearly articulate a winning strategy for the pursuit.
● Work with subject matter experts and teaming partners to develop methodology and content.
● Draft the written narrative according to the RFP requirements, presenting a compliant and compelling proposal, highlighting Weeks' experience and approach to the project.
● Coordinate complex and design-bid proposals, including organizing meetings for planning and draft review, assigning tasks and deadlines, version control, communicating with external team members and tracking progress.
● Establish the concept for the visual presentation of the proposal, using layout design software.
● Design proposal artwork, graphics, organizational charts, tables, and use of photos.
