Protective service specialist job description

Provides expert telecommunications activities for continuous monitoring of hospital facilities and during emergency situations requiring the coordination of information to multiple police, fire and rescue agencies as well as medical personnel.
Responsibilities:

1. Communications Systems and Documentation Receives screens, prioritizes and documents incoming and outgoing emergency and non-emergency police calls using police telephone and radio communication equipment. Provides information and assistance to callers in a pleasant, calm and sensitive manner. Documents all calls promptly and legibly using the dispatch log system.

2. Information Collection and Distribution Obtains accurate information from the caller upon answering the phone or radio. Prioritizes Disseminates and Transmits accurate information in a timely manner to hospital police and/or hospital security services and requests additional assistance as needed from local police or fire agencies. Refers non-law enforcement matters to appropriate departments or personnel. Enters pertinent information into (CAD) Computer Aided Dispatch system, generates and distributes reports in RMS report writing system. Conducts want and warrant searches, identity checks, registration checks and vehicle owner information. Maintains contact with all police officers, security, and employees assigned police radios on assignment maintains status and location of all field units. Analyzes situations accurately and takes effective action to help assure officer and public safety.

3. Monitors Fire Alarm Systems Acts as a 24 Hour Liaison for Simplex Fire Emergency Calls (Outside Facilities). Conducts Fire Drills Documents all Fire Alarms and Fire Drills within the Hospital Complex Monitors and dispatches officers according to written protocol for all Hospitals Fire Alarms Acknowledges, Signal Silences and Resets Fire Alarm Conducts Overhead Pages for Fire Alarms Receives Elevator Emergency Calls

4. Regulated High Priority Monitoring systems Monitors State and Federal regulated systems and areas via Camera/Security Alarms and dispatches officers for a Security Breech. Receives Alarms from regulated Central Monitoring stations. Knowledgeable with regulated Security/Environmental Alarm Response Policy, Protocol and Procedures. Communicates with Outside Agency Central Monitoring to resolve alarms. Pages/Contacts the Incident Action Team for immediate alert/notification.

5. Surveillance and Alarms Operates and maintains surveillance and alarm systems. Monitors multiple video monitors and various alarm systems. Operates electronic access system, as requested. Participates and assists in documentation of Panic Alarm, Hugs Infant Abduction System testing. Documents/Reports deficiencies for security systems testing Documents Work Request for Plant Engineering Department as required.

JOB SUMMARY

Perform medical, security, firefighting, hazardous material and other protective services duties to ensure a safe working environment for employees.

Protective Services Specialist I's may be expected to perform the following duties:

Enforces all prescribed company policies and procedures.

Maintains site security at all times.

Firm knowledge of the facility and surrounding property.

Intimate knowledge of the hazards encountered within the facility.

Understanding of the areas of responsibility of each key facility personnel.

Consistent operation within the Total Production Maintenance system.

Ability to conduct day-to-day operations with little to no assistance.

Basic understanding of Communications Center operations.

Understanding of how to respond to an emergency.

Respond to emergencies and assess the need for additional resources.

Aware of the hazards present on site when dealing with "routine" emergencies.

Basic knowledge of what is entailed in maintaining site security.

Familiarization with the facility and its surrounding property.

Basic understanding and use of the ACE program.

Write reports describing all violations, irregularities or complaints noted.

Acquire and maintain internal Powered Industrial Vehicle (PIV) licensure.

Must be able to perform duties aligned with acquiring EMR certificate

May have the opportunity to train for, obtain and maintain certifications to enhance individual skills and broaden the department's service to its customers.

May perform a variety of other protective services-related duties, as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High School or General Equivalency Diploma

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English

Preferred Qualifications

1+ years of related experience, or a completed degree/certificate from a post-secondary or vocational school in a related field with 0-1+ years related experience

State of Maine Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) Certification or higher or ability to obtain within 180 days of hire in order to perform job duties as stated above.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Excellent Customer Service Skills

Firefighter level I certification or higher

Experience handling hazardous materials

Technical rescue experience

1-2 Years Communications/Dispatch Experience

1-2 years of security related experience

Maine Criminal Justice Full Time Police Academy, Reserve Academy, or Basic Corrections Academy

Proficient in regulations of the National Industrial Security Program Manual and Export Control

*QUIKTRIP DIVISION PROTECTIVE SERVICES SPECIALIST*

*Primary Purposes of Job: *This position provides both physical and administrative security services for the Company. It protects employees, customers, authorized visitors, vendors, and QuikTrip and private property from harm; and deters illegal activity, theft, and vandalism within and upon QuikTrip's property while preserving QuikTrip brand reputation as the convenience retail destination of choice. This position also provides research and documentation for security incidents occurring on QuikTrip property.

*Major Functions of Position.*

* Conducts interior and exterior security checks of Store grounds and as directed, Non-Store Facilities. Essential tasks include identifying, reporting, and mitigating (within capabilities under the circumstances) observed life, fire, and safety hazards.
* Designated primary responder for Security Incident Response for incidents that occur within and upon Store property, and as directed, Non-Store Facilities. Enforces Corporate Security Incident Response policies, secures scene and potential evidence, renders first aid, and directs traffic, if required. Responds to security alarms and calls for assistance. Provides security during the transportation of large sums of cash and/or other valuables, as directed.
* Conducts research, documentation, and preparation of evidentiary case files for Security Incidents occurring on QuikTrip property.
* Secures and safeguards Lost and Found property.
* Performs other Security / Operations-related tasks and functions as directed by Management, including Physical Security Assessments of QuikTrip Stores and Non-Store Facilities per Corporate Enterprise Security System standards. Maintains 24/7 recall readiness to respond to QuikTrip Corporation-related incidents on a rotational schedule. Additional duties may require travel to and from any of the states QuikTrip Corporation conducts business to perform Protective Services-related missions. These duties will include the requirement to have and maintain a current and valid driver license. Must satisfactorily complete annual Physical Aptitude Test, Weapon Qualification, TASER re-certification, Emergency First Aid (CPR-AED) re-certification, Blood Borne Pathogens, NARCAN, Defensive Tactics, Active Shooter, Legal Update, and Mental Health Update per Corporate Policy as well as submit to annual 10-panel drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle record check.

The ability to focus on a single source of sound in the presence of other distracting sounds.
