** Summary:**
Provides armed security and safety services in all areas of the hospital, hospital properties, and the hospital's off-campus sites as assigned. Creates and maintains a safe, secure environment for the hospital's patients, visitors, staff, and assets and to manage potentially violent, disruptive, hazardous, and emergency situations through preventative patrol, investigation, and complaint resolution. During the initial training period Officers will be trained to work at multiple care sites and rotated throughout those care sites during this period. After successful completion of the training and introductory period, Officers will be assigned to a care site based on department needs.
Officers should expect to be assigned a home care site, but may be required to float to other care sites as operational needs dictate.
**Responsibilities And Duties:**
Provides armed safety and security services in all areas of the hospital and grounds; patrols hospital, parking areas and off-site locations to observe, protect and provide assistance as needed.
Observes, corrects, reports and documents incidents of risk-related situations to management. Identifies, reports and corrects security and safety breeches. Conducts and assists in investigations of criminal and administrative incidents in the best interest of the hospital.
Handles valuable items as needed. Assists with violent or potentially violent patients, visitors and staff when called throughout the hospital. Enforces Hospital Policy as related to security will be a 1st responder to all emergency situations, provide safety and security services in all areas of the OhioHealth and grounds; foot patrol of the hospital and surrounding campus; mobile patrol of parking areas and off site locations to observe and provide assistance.
Observe, correct, report and document incidents to management; identify, report and correct security and safety breaches; provide surveillance and security in the parking areas.
Work independently to determine the correct response to most situations and initiate actions accordingly. Conduct and assist in investigations of criminal and administrative incidents; participate in the hospital lost and found program. Assist with violent or potentially violent patients, visitors, and staff in the Emergency Department, Behavioral Health Unit, and other areas of the hospital.
Enforce and implement hospital policies related to security/safety. Assist in the hospital control center and other operational areas during breaks or staff shortage. Control access and monitor security of drugs in the hospital pharmacies through the hospitals access control system.
Assist patients and visitors with automobile difficulty, such as changing tires, retrieving keys locked inside car, and other general needs. Investigate narcotic alarms, losses, and discrepancies. Each Security/ProtectiveServicesOfficer must maintain a level of fitness which will allow him/her to respond fully to strenuous and or critical physical activity.
Takes lead on special projects as assigned, maintains minimum training levels each year as defined by leadership, performs any function and/or training as assigned. Driving is an essential function of the job.
Management reserves the right to make changes to the assignments, training levels required and/or to the general required competency levels.

Prevent all unauthorized access by enforcing all Client and PGI policies, including implementing and enforcing badging policies, controlling physical locks and keys, and inspecting persons and equipment.
Provide security protection for all Client and PGI personnel and property within the assigned area of responsibility.
Report or respond to incidents, security, and safety concerns per established post orders, including responding to alarms.
Monitor security cameras and other electronic surveillance systems.
Guide, follow, and direct individuals throughout the Site.
Assist in controlling physical and electronic locks and unlocking and locking doors and areas.
The Cleared Armed Security Officer will perform testing and other inspection services related to access control, including routine inspections, and testing of alarms, locks, doors, monitoring systems, and other access control mechanisms.
Prevent the theft of physical or intellectual property.
Assist in promoting communication and awareness of data center security policies to client employees, vendors, contractors, and others.
The Cleared Armed Security Officer will maintain standards of Armed Security Officer competency, conduct, appearance, and integrity, including compliance with PGI and the Client's Code of Conduct and Uniform Policy

Required Qualifications:

We are seeking reliable and professional Armed Flex Security Officers to support our team by filling in for open shifts, call-offs, and coverage needs across multiple sites. This is an as-needed position - hours are not guaranteed but provide valuable flexibility and opportunity for supplemental income.
Pay & Incentives:
Starting Rate: $22.00/hour
Pay Increase Schedule (with Good Standing):
$22.50/hour after 3 months
$23.00/hour after 6 months
$24.00/hour after 1 year
Mileage Reimbursement: $0.70/mile after first 20 miles from Genric-defined starting address
Primary Responsibilities:
Front-of-house armed security positioned inside a dispensary lobby
Assist staff at check-in, verify patient credentials, and support reception alongside the client
Monitor front lobby and manage lines at the front door to assist reception
Check IDs, ensure compliance, and maintain order at entry
Patrol inside and outside of the facility as needed
Assist with secure deliveries and product movement
Work closely with management and staff to ensure the safety of patients, staff, property, and product
Respond to and fill open or call-off shifts as assigned
Maintain visibility, enforce policies, and respond to emergencies as needed
Write detailed reports and communicate effectively with site leadership
Requirements:
Current, valid OPOTA Armed Guard Certificate or be a current commissioned peace officer
Prior Law Enforcement or Military preferred
Must be at least 21 years of age
Valid OH driver's license and reliable transportation
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check

About the Position:
As a Security Officer, you will ensure a positive customer experience by ensuring a safe and secure environment for all. You are responsible for addressing disruptive or offensive behavior, unsafe conditions, and minimizing theft of library property.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or G.E.D. required.

Completion of a security program with report writing and disruptive situation handling
or
on-the-job training within 90 days
De-escalation training within 6 months
IAHSS Basic Level Security Officer Certification within 1 year
TASER Certification within 6 months
Preferred: OPOTA or Corrections Officer Training, military, or first responder experience

Provide visible security presence through patrols and monitoring assigned areas

Respond to and resolve security and emergency situations, using verbal de-escalation whenever possible
Assist patients, visitors, and caregivers with directions, escorts, and safety-related needs
Collaborate with law enforcement and fire departments as necessary
Conduct fire drills, safety inspections, and preventative maintenance tasks
Complete detailed reports and maintain accurate shift logs
Ensure security equipment is functioning and report deficiencies
Support safety processes across the organization, including snow/ice precautions as needed.
