PC sales really took off after IBM entered the market in 1981, endorsing the small machines as essential tools in corporate offices.

In 1982 Bill Mullet became the sole owner and changed the name to Precision Door and Glass.

In 1995 Precision purchased Sugarcreek Window and Door to become the ProVia Sugarcreek Facility.

IBM made a similar — and successful — bet with its chess-playing Deep Blue computer, which beat the world chess champion Garry Kasparov in 1997.

They continued to grow and in 2002 bought an automated glass insulating line.

Ferrucci first pitched the idea of Watson to his bosses at IBM’s research labs in 2006.

2007 was a huge year for the company, as they not only added Inspirations Art Glass to their collection, but Precision Entry, Monarch IG, and Sugarcreek Industries were finally united under ProVia Door and the new logo symbolizing the professional way was created.

While the shares of those three have multiplied in value many times, IBM’s stock price is down more than 10 percent since Watson’s “Jeopardy!” triumph in 2011.

2013 was a huge year for ProVia, and they outlined principles that outline and define their mission.

IBM continued to invest in the health industry, including billions on Watson Health, which was created as a separate business in 2015.
