Key Responsibilities:
+ Perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, updating patient records, collecting specimens, and assisting with procedures
+ Provide administrative support including scheduling, documentation, and patient communication

Medical Assistants work under the direction of a licensed practitioner to support patient care and ensure smooth clinic operations. Responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, assisting with examinations, and maintaining accurate medical records, all in compliance with established policies and regulations.

Medical Assistants work under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed and assist in providing basic patient care to assigned patients. Associate Medical Assistant (MAI)
Required qualifications:
+ Coursework/Training - Graduate of an accredited school that includes hands on training in a clinical setting for medical assistants or,
+ Coursework/Training - Graduate of a registered medical assistant apprenticeship program or,
+ Coursework/Training - Has completed two years of medical training in the United States Armed Forces or,

Summary:

Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The Patient Care Tech (PCT) provides direct patient care under the guidance of the Registered Nurse or designated health care professional in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and within the policies, procedures, and guidelines of the organization.
The PCA/PCT performs a variety of basic age-specific duties to assist in the care of the patients under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN). All clinical care will be done under the direction of the RN who has determined appropriate tasks for delegation. The PCA/PCT makes observations as directed by the RN and reports deviations to the RN.
EDUCATION:
High School Diploma/GED preferred

Job Summary:
A Patient Care Technician (PCT) provides basic health care and support to patients under the guidance of the Registered Nurse or designated healthcare professional. Certified Surgical Tech First Assist (or) Registered Nurse First Assist
The Certified Surgical Tech First Assist is a proficient level practitioner who assists surgeons and nurses with patients, equipment preparation, aseptic technique, and surgical procedures in the operating room in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and within the policies, procedures, and guidelines of the organization. They will prepare the operating room for surgery by assembling routine supplies, materials, instruments, and equipment, and will obtain special supplies indicated by physician. They are also trained to set up and operate a variety of specialized instrumentation, manual and powered equipment.
Essential Functions:
Functions as the scrub person and may assist the provider as trained during operative and other invasive procedures by assembling supplies and equipment required for the procedure.
Prepares and organizes sterile supplies and instruments for the procedure and performs surgical counts with the circulating RN according to policy.
Maintains an organized sterile field and ensures the sterility of the field by taking corrective action as needed. Assists with the placement of sterile drapes. Provides instruments and supplies to the surgical team during the procedure and maintains aseptic technique.
Retrieves and collects specimens and labels specimens appropriately and correctly.
Reports any implanted devices, catheters, drains, and packing to the circulator.
Provides complete case preparation and knows, with the ability to adapt, of special instruments, supplies, and equipment needs for patient populations.
