Job Overview
The Environmental Aide, Environmental Services II is responsible for cleaning the facility in such a way as to promote health and safety while reducing the spread of infection.
Minimum Requirements
High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
Basic computer knowledge is required.
A minimum of 1 year related experience and/or training preferred.
Compensation
$25.00 - $29.32 hourly

Position Summary:
This job ensures effective collection of all medical solid waste and trash throughout the facility as well as collection and distribution of linen and floor care maintenance. This position is also required to perform all duties of an Environmental Services Aid including housekeeping and janitorial duties to in patient care, administrative offices, and public areas.
Major Position Responsibilities:
The position characteristics reflect the most important duties, responsibilities and competencies considered necessary to perform the essential functions of the job in a fully competent manner. * Maintains a safe, clean working environment, including unit based safety and infection control requirements.
* Responsible to safely move heavy equipment, bins, receptacles.
* Environmental Services Support Aide (Lift-Floor-Trash-Linen) Responsibilities:
* Collect bio waste and trash throughout the facility. Dispose of in proper receptacles.
* Collect and distribute linen.
* Maintain and clean floors according to organizational standards and following assigned schedule.
* Move and relocate patient beds.
* Move furniture, boxes, desks, supplies, and other equipment as assigned.
* Environmental Services Aide Responsibilities:
* Clean and maintain assigned areas according to TCMC standards.
* Maintain a safe environment at all time. This includes the proper use of wet floor signs.
* Use appropriate protective equipment while performing duties. This includes proper hand washing and hand sanitizing.
* Understand the role and responsibility of the position in the event of a disaster.
* Clean discharge/occupied rooms according to the departmental training checklist.
* Maintain professional and courteous customer service at all times.
* Maintain current status with all hospital requirements (Annual TB Skin Test, Fit Testing, Net Learning, other requirements).
Qualifications:
* Ability to push and pull a minimum of 750 lbs., required.
* Ability to lift and move a minimum of 75 lbs., required.
* Ability to understand proper floor care, required.
* Ability to understand trash collection and proper trash disposal, required.
* Ability to understand linen collection and proper linen distribution, required.
* Ability to understand proper lifting and moving heavy objects, required.
* Ability to work with and properly handle cleaning solutions and chemicals, required.
* Ability to complete on-the-job training, including the proper operational procedures for the cleaning equipment and tools, and must demonstrate knowledge of health and sanitation standards, required.
* Minimum of 1 year previous housekeeping / janitorial experience, preferred.
* Ability to read and understand written instructions and labels in English, required.
* Ability to communicate with supervisors, health care staff and environmental service employees, required.
* Experience with stripping, waxing, buffing, of surgery/operating room floors according to AORN and Practice Guidelines for Healthcare Environmental Cleaning standards, required (Surgical Services only)
* Experience with floor scrubber/buffing equipment, required (Surgical Services only)
* Knowledge of cleaning agents, equipment, and soil removal in an operating room environment, required (Surgical Services only)
Education:
* High school diploma or GED, preferred.
Licenses:
* Current CA driver's license (Eve shift only) within 6 months of hire or transfer, required.
Each new hire candidate who is offered employment must pass a physical evaluation, urine drug screen and pre-employment background checks before starting work.

We are seeking an Environmental Monitoring Specialist II - 2nd Shift to support our Microbiology Quality Control team. The Environmental Monitoring Specialist II - 2nd Shift will be responsible for providing daily operational support and environmental monitoring (EM) services to the Immatics aseptic production areas and to perform/provide safety testing for the final drug product release.
FLSA Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Schedule: 1200 - 2030; Monday to Friday
This is a critical position and may require working overtime, after-hours, weekends, or holidays to ensure business continuity.

What You'll Do:
As an Environmental Monitoring Specialist II, you will play a key role in supporting our Microbiology operations:
Perform EM of the classified aseptic production areas including incubation of samples, reading of results, reporting, and approving data (EM activities include but are not limited to contact plates, viable/non-viable counts, microbial ID testing/send-outs, and operator monitoring).
Conducts microbiological media growth promotion and maintains department stock cultures.
Supporting aseptic media fill process simulation validations.
Responsible for QC micro equipment validation, maintenance and calibration.
Performs safety testing on in-process and final drug products.
General laboratory operations (ordering supplies and culture media, operating
laboratory equipment, sample receipt, and send outs)
Other relatable functions may be determined.
Secondary Functions:
Train junior analysts.
Assist with equipment and assay qualifications
Required Experience and Education:
BA or BS in any science-related field (degree may be waived for more years of experience)
3+ years of experience in a laboratory and cleanroom environment
Preferred Experience and Education:
BA or BS in Biology, Biological Sciences, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or Biomedical Science/Engineering
Laboratory skills including more than one of the following: microscopy, visual
inspection, cell count & viability, sterility, endotoxin, and mycoplasma
Experience in environmental monitoring performance and qualification for drug product production.
Experience writing GxP deviations, environmental excursion reports, OOS/OOE, CAPAs, change controls, etc.
Competencies:
Strong communicator and collaborates effectively with coworkers and between departments.
Flexible and able to work under pressure and meet project timelines.
Works Independently.
Capable of aseptic gowning.
Work Environment:
This position works in a typical office and lab environment with moderate noise levels and uses phone, computer, office equipment and supplies on a regular basis. Other duties performed while outside of office and lab building could involve exposure to manufacturing operations, along with outdoor conditions (including highway traffic) and temperatures.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, pathogens, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee can be occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, risk of electrical shock, sharps, or cuts, while performing tests. This position requires handling of human biological specimens including human peripheral blood and human T cell products, as well as laboratory chemicals.
This position requires local travel in personal vehicle on the public roads between sites in the Houston area.
This position regularly works in a cleanroom environment at level 3 gowning with moderate noise levels from HEPA filtration.
Travel required: Less than 10%
Physical demands:

Near Visual Acuity - clarity of vision at approximately 20 inches or less (working with small objects, reading small print, including the use of computers).
Pushing - Exerting force upon an object so that the object moves away from the object.
Pulling - Exerting force upon an object so that the object moves toward the force.
Sitting - remaining in a sitting position for at least 50% of the time.
Standing/Walking - remain on one's feet in an upright position at a workstation.
Stooping - occasional bending the body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist - requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles.
