Manages specific patients throughout their admission to ensure the availability of sufficient clinical and medical center resources. Communicates on a daily basis with medical staff, medical center personnel and outside resources to ensure the appropriate utilization of resources according to clinical and financial standards. Monitors the medical record for variances to clinical and financial standards and intervenes to achieve the optimum outcome for the patient and the medical center. Is able to incorporate risk management and infection control knowledge for the purpose of assisting the healthcare team to achieve a desired outcome. Identifies issues, which expose the organization to liability and financial risk, and assists to minimize the risk by collaborating with management, medical staff and medical center personnel. Provides payor/utilization review organizations with concurrent retrospective utilization review required for reimbursement.

Required Qualifications:
+ Coursework/Training: Environmental Orientation due within 30 days of hire.
+ Coursework/Training: Case Management Competency due within 90 days of hire.
+ Coursework/Training: General Nurse Competency due within 30 days of hire.
+ Upon hire: California Registered Nurse License.
+ 2 years Acute nursing experience, with evidence of progressive clinical experience preferred, Or
+ Case management experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor's Degree in Nursing upon hired, must obtain BSN within 3 years of date of hire. and

Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions.
Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines.
Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed.
May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary.
Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions.
Physical Abilities Testing may be required.

* Conducts and analyzes initial and ongoing patient assessment, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates treatment effectiveness
* Synthesizes and prioritizes information in order to take immediate and decisive evidence-based, patient-focused action using clinical judgement and clinical inquiry
* Anticipates and responds with confidence and adapts to rapidly changing patient conditions

Job Summary:
The Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by:
Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status
Determining the priority of the patient's problems and needs
Implementing clinical nursing interventions to acute, critical patients that require intensive medical care
Developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes
Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment
Essential Functions:
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team
Conducts and analyzes initial and ongoing patient assessment, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates treatment effectiveness
Synthesizes and prioritizes information in order to take immediate and decisive evidence-based, patient-focused action using clinical judgement and clinical inquiry
Anticipates and responds with confidence and adapts to rapidly changing patient conditions
Participates in the on-call system for emergency and urgent procedures on weekends, nights, and holidays. Must be able to respond to STEMI call backs in less than 30 minutes
Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and the organization's policies and procedures

Education:
Bachelor of Science Nursing (preferred, not required)
Certifications:
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred at hire, must obtain from approved source prior to direct patient care, ACLS required within 6 months of hire)
Experience:
One year of RN experience in telemetry, critical care, cardiac cath lab, ER, or OR (required)

8 South Extension is a thirty-two bed intermediate unit part of our Joint Commission Certified Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center. Because we are a telemetry unit, we also see various cardiac diagnoses including new onset atrial fibrillation, chest pain and congestive heart failure.
We also feature eight medical -surgical pediatric beds to help us fulfill our level 1 trauma center certification.
This unit sees a variety of neurologic diagnoses as well as patients needing post intensive care after thrombectomies and stent placements.
This unit is honored to be a “Blue Ribbon Clinical Unit,” the winner of our infection prevention foley reduction hospital wide initiative, including Daisy Award Winners, and Nightingale award winners!

Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
The Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) delivers patient care utilizing the nursing process through data collection and assessment, identifying and determining the priority of patient's problems/needs, and evaluating the process and outcome of nursing care, all in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team. The RN coordinates, provides, and directs patient teaching activities and coordinates the care provided by health team members.
Essential Job Functions
• Conducts initial and ongoing patient assessment, analyzes assessment data, creates a plan of care, implements treatment, and evaluates treatment effectiveness
• Administers medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and Bon Secours Mercy Health policies and procedures.
• Serves as point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments.
• Acts as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department.
• Serves as patient advocate in collaboration with spiritual care, palliative care, and ethics.

The Intermediate Care (IMC) Unit is currently seeking dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurses to join our award-winning team. Our 30-bed unit includes 14 private rooms and 8 semi-private rooms, and we provide care for a diverse patient population including those with cardiac and pulmonary conditions, as well as patients experiencing surgical complications. Unique to our unit, we are one of the few areas outside of the ICU that cares for ventilator-dependent patients with tracheostomies. We strive to maintain a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio to ensure safe, high-quality care and support for our staff. The IMC team is a dynamic mix of experience levels, from new graduate nurses to professionals with over 30 years of service. Occupational Health Nurse (RN) - Mercy Outreach
Job Summary:
The Occupational Health Nurse (RN) position is responsible for delivering exceptional nursing care to patients by:
Utilizing strong organizational and leadership skills to assess patient status
Implementing clinical nursing interventions
Having a highly diverse medical skillset
Developing and performing patient care plans to enhance and improve outcomes
Ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment
Essential Functions:
Collect vital signs, administer IV medications, understand charting, and assess patient condition
Serves as a team player to provide appropriate wound service coverage in the center
Evaluates, updates and revises the plan of care to facilitate achievement of planned and expected outcomes
Administer medications in a safe manner consistent with the State of Practice and the organization's policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned
Education:
Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program
Licensure/Certification:
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) - American Heart Association
Occupational Health Nurse Certification (preferred, not required)
Experience:
3 years of experience working in acute care of adults (required)
1 year of experience in occupational medicine (preferred, not required)

Job Summary:
The RN Clinical Float Pool assesses, analyzes, plans, implements and evaluates patient care following established patient care standards for the organization including those for patient assessment and transfer. The primary function of this job, based on hiring tier, is to be available and flexible to float to various departments, and sites throughout the markets within the organization to provide patient care, which could include but not limited to scheduling day of staffing, more than one assignment unit within a single shift or seasonal staffing patterns. Participates as a member of the health care team in cooperation with and under the direction of a clinical manager or designee as defined by the relevant Standards and Scope of Practice for the Registered Nurse.
Essential Functions:
RN Clinical Float Pool are hired with the understanding they must float based on the tiers below:
Tier 1: Float expectation within a single site based on competency
Demonstrates awareness of and supports organization departmental and operating unit goals through participation in continuous quality improvement and departmental activities.
Acts as a patient safety advocate by participating in ongoing quality improvement in the department
Incorporates the professional practice model into care delivery
Plans and coordinates nursing care and clinical decisions using the best available evidence.
Formulates and implements a plan of care for each patient which includes interventions, evaluation of response to interventions and documentation as appropriate to condition and age.

Associate's of Nursing (required)

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS - AHA) -American Heart Association required based on specialty assignment
