Job DescriptionBenefits: Flexible schedule Competitive salary Paid time off The Marriage and Family Therapist will be required to provide, evaluate, and develop individualized plans for individuals, families, and teenagers. Provide a variety of interventions that will focus on problem-solving, cognitive behavior modification, brief psychodynamic therapy, coping skills, substance abuse treatment, and other evidence-based practice techniques. The Marriage and Family Therapist will be part of a multi-disciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, physician assistants, marriage-family therapists, licensed clinical social workers, and medical support staff. Responsibilities: Counsel patients on concerns such as unsatisfactory relationships, previous trauma, divorce and separation, home management, and financial difficulties. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans. Encourage patients to develop and use skills and strategies for confronting their problems in a constructive manner. Timely and appropriate assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and treatment intervention. Appropriate selection of treatment modality to patients presenting problem. Collection of information using testing, interviewing, discussion, and observation. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of treatment methodologies. Proper use of counseling techniques, interpersonal communication, interview techniques, and conflict resolution. Provides appropriate and timely documentation of clinical encounters. Adheres to all mandated guidelines for patient's clinical care and license. Renders appropriate guidance & therapy. Complies with organizational, departmental, state/federal guidelines & all regulatory agency policies and procedures. Skills and Abilities: Direct experience with cognitive behavioral therapy, family therapy, child therapy, group therapy, and behavior modification. Great teamwork skills. Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills. Ability to work well with others. Must be attentive and tactful. Ability to utilize/access computer an electronic medical records (EMR) system (DrChrono) to document patient charts. We are interested in someone with exceptional skills, deep experience providing bodywork services, and certification in Esalen Massage. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Provide excellent bodywork services Work 2 days per week (Saturdays and Sundays), 3-4 sessions per day at specific session times agreed upon with Healing Arts management Conduct self in a professional manner with clients and co-workers Keep work area clean and professional Keep all paperwork current: permits, licensure, and insurance Adhere to Healing Arts department and role guidelines, expectations, and policies Develop and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers and peers Be responsive to management Other various tasks as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Certified in Esalen massage with at least 2 years of professional massage experience preferred Massage license certification through CAMTC Proof of current liability insurance policy If new to the Esalen Healing Arts crew, must give 4+ evaluation sessions to designated Healing Arts staff A passion for exceptional service Ability to provide references and appropriate documentation of experience Good listening and communications skills High level of client relations experience, supporting a safe environment and a caring experience for our guests, following ethics for practitioner best practices Embrace a strong work ethic and teamwork focus, with flexibility and willingness to support others and maintain a professional workplace Possess a good understanding of the physical body, how to evaluate, assess, and support client needs Self care: knowledge and practice of a personalized self care program, utilizing good body mechanics and regularly practicing effective self care methods Focus on maintaining up-to-date skills & techniques and applying new knowledge FLEXIBILITY Esalen functions best when all staff work toward the common mission of encouraging everyone to reach our highest human potential. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to maneuver on uneven ground; stand for long periods of time; lift up to 30 pounds; and daily press, push, pull, grasp, lift, bend, squat, and turn as it pertains to giving a massage.
