Responsibility Highlights for our ProjectManager Civil Engineer - Site Development/Public Works
Manage multiple projects, overseeing all aspects from initiation to completion
Prepare schedule, budget, scope of services; prepare and collect additional services; monitor budgets; and recommend corrective actions
Supervise and train technical staff; assign projects to engineers with defined timelines; provide technical guidance; and review deliverables
Be in responsible charge of the production of quality deliverables while meeting project schedules
Evaluate staff performance; set career development goals; and provide mentorship and guidance
Apply design expertise in grading and drainage; accessible/universal design; low impact development; hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, and public improvements
Be familiar with local and state regulatory requirements, procedures, and standards
Lead business development efforts and pursuit planning, including proposals, RFPs and RFQs, presentations, interviews, and negotiation of contracts
Manage subconsultant contracting and coordination
Maintain strong client relationships and be responsible for contract management throughout the project
Minimum Qualifications to be our ProjectManager Civil Engineer - Site Development/Public Works
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline from accredited college or university
Professional registration (PE license) as a Civil Engineer in the state of California
8+ years of experience navigating multi-disciplined engineering projects
Minimum of 1+ years' experience as projectmanager in civil engineering, overseeing design of site development, facilities, infrastructure, and public works projects
Prior experience delivering projects for public agencies, municipalities, and educational institutions in Southern California
Strong technical knowledge of engineering concepts, practices, and procedures

Supports, oversees and coordinates engineering production activities for an operating unit.

Duties:
* Supervise construction management program of rail transit subway systems project, as part of an integrated interdisciplinary team.
* Assist the overall project Construction Manager in their duties.
* Act as Construction Manager overseeing the activities of Assistant construction managers, office engineers, assistant office engineers and construction inspectors.
* Monitor contractors' work for compliance with schedule, budget, technical specifications, and legal requirements.

**Pay Range:**

**Pay Transparency:** In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.

About being our Project Engineer
As our Project Engineer, you'll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day delivery of major construction projects. You'll collaborate closely with owners, designers, contractors and regulatory partners while helping drive project coordination, documentation, and issue resolution. This role requires a dependable daily commute, and future assignments may vary in scope, complexity, and size.
Responsibility Highlights for our Project Engineer
Daily interactions/coordination with owner, designer, contractors, inspectors, and regulatory agencies
Managing the construction documentation process including RFIs, submittals, change management, estimating, scheduling, and reporting
Supporting efforts with the contractor and designer to resolve construction related issues and changes
Facilitating project delivery with the resolution of project issues in a fair and firm manner
Preparing daily and weekly project status reports as well as oversight of field inspection daily reports
Coordinating and supervising field construction management staff and their activities with other Psomas/Owner sub-consultants as directed
Support project labor compliance efforts
Minimum Qualifications to be our Project Engineer
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
Minimum of 3 years of related work experience including managing the construction or being involved with the engineering design of wastewater treatment facilities, public works infrastructure, and heavy civil projects
Engineer in Training (EIT) or Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification is preferred; however, equivalent experience performing comparable work in the field, such as construction management or engineering design for similar projects, may be considered in lieu of certification
Knowledge of the construction process and the ability to read, understand, and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specifications
Ability to work independently and in a team environment, with minimal supervision and manage deadlines
Ability to work on an active construction site, including walking over uneven terrain, climbing ladders, crawling, stooping and entering confined spaces, being outdoors in inclement weather, wearing proper safety equipment, and practicing industry safety protocols

Your Opportunity
The San Francisco office has an opening for a ProjectManager across diverse project sectors. The ideal candidate will lead large design teams for technically sophisticated projects among a diverse series of project types. The ProjectManager role involves both client-facing and team-facing responsibilities and has tremendous growth potential.
Your Key Responsibilities
Forecast and organize project team for design, development, production and project document delivery;
Coordinate with consultants, team members and the client;
Successfully execute projects by following Page's and Owner's protocols and procedures in order to reach the best solution;
Develop strong client, consultant and collaborator relationships;
Understand budget, code and jurisdictional requirements;
Provide mentorship and guidance to project team;
Collaborate on project fee development and project proposals;
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Experience with all multiple project sizes, with concentration in large projects valued at $30MM plus;
Skilled in architecture and detailing skills as well as proficient in construction administrative processes;
Proven effectiveness coordinating with contractors, architectural teams, and consultants;
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite;
Successful at leading and organizing a team of multiple disciplines and consultants;
Confident with public speaking and networking;
Excellent writing skills;
Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills;
Detail oriented and organized with proven experience in managing multiple projects simultaneously;
Available for occasional travel within the US.
Education and Experience
10+ years' experience in similarly complex projects across diverse project sectors;
Degree in engineering, architecture or related field;
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Your Key Responsibilities
Serve as the technical lead for the project team responsible for preparing grading, drainage, wet utility, street improvements, and other civil engineering design documents, as well as hydrology/hydraulic storm water modeling and hydraulic modeling of pipe networks.
Manage multiple projects. Developing proposals and managing the approved scope, budget and schedule are a key role.
Lead the Design Team on civil engineering related services.
Day-to-day project oversight and communication with the client and project team.
Develop, track, update, forecast and modify the project schedule and budget throughout all phases of the project.
Prepare project status reports on a regular basis.
Review and approve all invoices and change orders associated with the project.
Reports to Senior Associate.
Assist in developing new work opportunities and building client relationships.
Responsible for the overall project performance and implementation of our projectmanagement frameworks.
Primary point of contact and representative to internal partners and clients.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
General understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
Strong understanding of design and construction permitting / approval process and requirements.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant design software (AutoCAD Civil3D, locally accepted hydrology and hydraulic programs, etc.)
Excellent interpersonal skills, and team oriented.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills and problem-solving abilities.
Local project resume and experience strongly preferred.
Possess a valid driver's license and good driving record.
Education and Experience
Minimum 8 years of related experience in Civil Engineering
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related degree
Registered Professional Engineer (P.E.)
