About being a Project Engineer / CivilEngineer - Site Development/Public Works
As a Project Engineer / CivilEngineer to join our CivilEngineering Team in our San Diego, CA office, you will utilize your expertise and technical abilities to collaborate and contribute to the planning and design activities for a broad range of project assignments dealing with site development, roadway and right of way improvements, hydrology & hydraulics, utilities and more for public, private and institutional clients, while working in a team-orientated setting and interacting with clients. Minimum Qualifications to be our Project Engineer / CivilEngineer - Site Development/Public Works
* Bachelor's Degree in CivilEngineering or related discipline
* Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of California
* 5+ years of experience with skills to navigate multi-disciplined engineering projects
* Proficient in civil design utilizing AutoCAD Civil3D.
* Strong technical knowledge with proven experience in preparing technical reports, designs, construction documents, specifications, and computations

Job Description
* Perform assigned tasks on projects as directed by Project/Task manager.
* Assist in transportation highway pavement and asset management data analysis.
* Utilize pavement design software, including PAVER and related pavement management software.
* Utilize AutoCAD and/or ArcGIS.
* Perform Pavement Condition Index surveys in accordance with ASTM standards.
* Perform airfield pavement design in accordance with FAA and Department of Defense standards. Develop basic plans, specifications and cost estimates for pavement design projects, under guidance of a registered engineer.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
* BA/BS + 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Requirements
* Master's degree in CivilEngineering with focus in Transportation or Pavement Engineering (roadway, parking, airfields).
* It is preferred that the candidate has an Engineer - in - Training (EIT) certification
* Licensed Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain licensure within 6 months of hire.
* A minimum of 3 years of work experience in the field of CivilTransportation and Pavement Engineering.
* Requires basic knowledge using AutoCAD and/or ArcGIS.
* Requires intermediate to advance knowledge of basic data analysis tools such as Excel (including lookups, pivot tables, VBA macros) and PowerPoint.

The role of CivilEngineer is to work independently and as a team member on a wide range of land development projects under the guidance of a Senior Engineer/Project Manager. Your Opportunity
As part of our team, you will work to plan, design, and develop complex water infrastructure projects. You will perform a variety of complex tasks that may include conducting analyses and preparing project documents and reports, preparing plans and specifications, engaging with clients on technical issues, and coordinating with project teams and project managers. This is a professional-track position, targeting EITs with two or more years of experience seeking to further develop their skills and become licensed engineers in California.
Your Key Responsibilities
Develop project concepts and support design tasks on assigned projects under the supervision of a Project Engineer, Technical Lead and/or Project Manager.
As part of the project engineering team, support alternative analyses and business case evaluations for making project decisions.
Conduct analyses and designs for a variety of water/wastewater infrastructure projects, including conveyance, storage, stormwater management, treatment, and others.
Coordinate with other design professionals and help resolve conflicts during the development and implementation of a project. Take initiative to identify appropriate corrective actions.
Participate in field work, pilot studies, and other data analysis activities.
Collaborate with other team members, technical leads, and project managers to complete complex projects with high quality.
Be familiar with industry standards and manuals (i.e. ASTM, AWWA, etc.) as well as client and regulatory agency standards and requirements.
Perform other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
Has a developing understanding of relevant areas of water infrastructure design.
Possesses excellent time management skills; takes ownership of task assignment and schedule, budgeting, and efficient use of time and resources.
Ability to effectively discuss project issues with the project team and support the development of project solutions. Asks questions and seeks answers.
Proficiency in relevant discipline software programs and tools, such as AutoCAD, ArcGIS, and others.
Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, collaboration, and innovation.
Strong interpersonal skills for working in diverse team environments with staff, clients, and stakeholders, including working in remote/virtual settings.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Education and Experience
Bachelor of Science in CivilEngineering, Environmental Engineering, or other relevant engineering field. Master of Science preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience on relevant projects.
EIT with ability to obtain PE within one year.

Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a Junior CivilEngineer for our Tampa, Florida office (can work anywhere in the US). This is a vacant position for which we are actively recruiting. Essential Job Functions:
* Prepare engineering deliverables for equipment support structures, foundations, site grading, access roads, and site drainage.
* Develop conceptual studies, plans, maps, and layouts for civil-structural projects.
* Review and interpret topographic surveys and geotechnical investigation reports.
* Perform technical calculations, material take-offs, and feasibility estimates.
* Conduct field site inspections to monitor project progress and ensure compliance with design specifications.
* Estimate project materials, equipment, and labor costs to support feasibility analysis.
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in CivilEngineering.
* 1-3 years of related experience (co-op or work experience in electrical substations or transmission line projects is preferred).
* Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer in Training is preferred.
* Knowledge of civil/structural engineering principles, practices, and design methods.
* Experience with STAAD.Pro, MathCAD, and/or PLS-CADD is an asset.
* Proficiency in computer-based design tools.
Physical Requirements:
* Ability to sit or stand as required and remain in a stationary position for at least 50% of the workday.
* Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle, manipulate, or feel objects, including continuous operation of a computer and other standard office equipment such as calculators, copiers, and printers.
Work Environment / Environmental Factors:
* The majority of work is performed in a professional office setting.

About being our Transportation Resident Engineer
As our Transportation Resident Engineer, you will work in conjunction with the Owner's Project Manager to compose and issue field orders, monitor the quality of the construction project and conformance with plans and specifications, monitor the contractor's safety implementation, determine monthly progress payments, create a daily report and monitor the daily reports of staff, initiate change proposals for design team review and approval, estimate cost of changes, negotiate costs with contractors, and recommend acceptance to the Owner's Project Manager.
Responsibility Highlights for our Transportation Resident Engineer
Provide pre-construction services including bid-ability/constructability reviews and bidding services
Provide contract administration, review contractor's schedule, respond to claims received from contractor, documenting progress of project, and respond to requests for information, submittals and change orders
Provide monitoring of project in accordance with approved plans, specifications, budget, and schedule
Daily personal interactions/coordination with clients, designers, owners, contractors, inspectors, and regulatory agencies
Direct and supervise field construction management staff and their activities and other Psomas/Owner sub-consultants, as directed
Facilitate project delivery and the resolution of project issues
Minimum Qualifications to be our Transportation Resident Engineer
Professional Engineer (PE) / Licensed CivilEngineer in the State of California
Bachelor's degree in civilengineering or related field
Demonstrated experience administering Caltrans and local agency contracts
10+ years' construction management or project management experience
Ability to travel between project sites and office facilities
Ability to work on-site in a construction trailer or building where exposure to heights, ability to walk on uneven surface, stand, climb ladders, crawl, stoop, enter confined spaces, tolerate heat, cold, dirt, odors, wastewater, chemicals, and other construction hazards that may exist
