Description: SUMMARY: Assess, diagnose and treat patients with mental health conditions, including providing therapy, prescribing medications and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care. SUPERVISOR: Medical Director or Designee DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments to identify mental health conditions. Review patient history, conduct mental status exams and utilize diagnostic tools. Treatment Planning and Implementation: Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and diagnoses. Implement evidence-based therapies and interventions, including medication management. Prescribe and monitor psychotropic medications, as appropriate and within scope of practice. Therapeutic Interventions: Provide individual, group and family therapy sessions. Utilize various therapeutic modalities, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and psychodynamic therapy. Medication Management: Monitor patient(s) responses to medication and adjust dosages as needed. Educate patient(s) and families about medications and potential side effects. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
