    Prototypes, a program of HealthRIGHT 360's residential substance use disorder (SUD) program is a new program contracted with Department of Public Health's (DPH) Substance Abuse Prevention and Control (SAPC) program for residential drug Medi-Cal (DMC) services for up to 99 adult men and women: 33 that are for men who are judicially involved, 33 for men, and 33 for women. The residential DMC program will employ 100 people and works closely with the other BHC programs to provide a continuum of services for low income/Medi-Cal population. The program is located on the campus of Martin Luther King Jr. Hospital in the Willowbrook area of South Los Angeles and will serve all LA County residents. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with the healthcare team which includes medical assistants, primary care, mental health and psychiatric providers, patient care coordinators, and registered nurses to provide patients with comprehensive quality healthcare that addresses both biomedical and psychosocial needs. The core responsibilities include a high degree of interpersonal competence with both staff and patients and evidence- based approaches to routine psychiatric care, medication management, chronic care support and medication assisted therapy for treatment of substance use disorders. Participates in Quality Improvement activities, and may contribute to the practice and program development. Patient population will include clients in residential treatment for substance use disorders at MLK BHC. Key Responsibilities Provide psychiatric health care to adults and adolescents including management of common acute and chronic illness.
