Assists in pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative patient care both in a hospital as well as an ambulatory surgery setting.
Assist in a large volume of robotic, laparoscopic, and open surgeries.
Bridges the gap between hospital staff and the physician or maintain effective communications between the unit and the surgeon regarding patient status.
Education
Bachelor?s degree and successful completion of an accredited physician assistant or nursepractitioner program.
Experience
Four years of health care experience before applying to APP program.
Two years of experience as an APP, preferably in General Surgery, Gastroenterology, Gynecology, or Urology.
Two or more years of surgical experience required. Robotic surgery experience is preferred. DaVinci certification a plus.
State APP license required. Current CPR certificate also required.
NursePractitioners must be ASBA or NSAA certified.
