Essential Duties:
Plan, coordinate and manage the mental health program and services of the facility.
Accept referrals for inmate evaluations; make necessary judgments and recommendations. Coordinate mental health referrals to other resources when deemed appropriate.
Develop and conduct preventative mental health program inclusive of inmate training, counseling, recreation activities, discipline, orientation and other support services.
Provide staff training, both group and individual, in-staff counseling techniques.
Prepare and conduct special training programs for staff as scheduled.
Serves in rotation with other medical staff to provide after-hours and weekend inmate care, if required, to include on-call rotation.
Maintain and monitor confidentiality of inmates and their files; observe applicable HIPAA rules.
Promote the development of positive social skills through modeling appropriate behaviors and intervening when inappropriate behaviors are observed.
Maintain accountability of inmates and property; adhere to safety practices.
Qualifications:
Doctor of medicine or doctor of osteopathy degree and valid license to practice medicine in the state of Florida, and current continuing education required by MTC Medical and professional regulatory board.
Board certified in Psychiatry
Graduate of accredited medical school with specialty training in psychiatry.
Current DEA and CPR certifications. One (1) year clinical experience preferred. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

The authority and duties of the Certified NursePractitioner shall include but not be limited to:
Obtains a complete health and psychosocial assessment that includes health history and physical examination; records findings in a systematic, accurate, and succinct form.

Requirements
Master of Science Degree in Nursing. Successful completion of an advanced nursepractitioner education program, accepted by the American Nurses' Association, the Nurses' Association of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, or the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Associate and Practitioners. Holds a certificate as a nursepractitioner in a specialty area of nursing one of the above certifying agents Holds a current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Georgia and Alabama. Has a minimum of two years of related clinical nursing experience.
Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice. Extensive knowledge of physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology and management of acute and chronic patient/family problems.
High level of analytic ability to concentrate and pay attention to detail.
Substantial interpersonal skills necessary to instruct patients and their families and to collaborate with health team members and to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
Ability to read, comprehend and transmit detailed instruction, in order to plan and perform job duties.
Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to details; also, ability to organize, prioritize, and work independently, as well as schedule and produce in a timely manner.
High degree of integrity to keep confidential all information related to patient health care.
Experience in community health is a plus
