Provides outpatient and inpatient care for thoracic surgery patients, assists in the OR, and develops/manages treatment plans under physician supervision. Flexible scheduling required to meet patient needs. No current call expectation. We anticipate this job will require 50% outpatient, 25% inpatient, and 25% OR coverage. Patient care in various settings (ambulatory, inpatient, OR). Perioperative patient management with surgical residents. Care coordination, patient education, and communication. Histories, physical exams, and test orders/interpretation. Plan of care development and medication orders. Timely and accurate documentation (notes, summaries). First assistant in the OR. Independent clinical judgment. Collaborative relationships with providers. Resident education. Continuing education and adherence to safety standards. Qualifications Certified PA-C with prescriptive authority in Washington. 2-5 years of experience preferred. Ability to work in a dynamic environment. Self-directed with problem-solving skills.
