Evaluate patients for medical concerns i.e., injury, disease, chronic pain, or a disabling condition) and assesses the physical and mental condition of patients by performing and obtaining comprehensive or problem-focused physical examinations and medical histories. Determine and order appropriate diagnostic radiology exams. Determine and implement appropriate treatment plans for patients providing relief from chronic pain using medications, nerve blocks, electrical stimulation, or other therapies directed towards treating chronic pain. Perform procedures primarily performed in nearby Outpatient Single Specialty Surgery Center with staff familiar with chronic pain procedures. Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and other diagnostic tests to assess patient problems Doctor and health care needs. Maintain (accurately, timely and complete) appropriate Electronic Health records detailing the patient's treatment plans and outcomes. Initiates timely consultation and referral when the problem exceeds scope of practice and/or expertise. Monitor ongoing progress and health of patients, and changes treatment plans, as necessary. Provide adaptive tools to improve the overall health and physical functioning of patients. Counsel patients and families regarding medical processes, management of the health condition, medication, nutrition, and health promotion. Counsel patients about drug regimens and possible side effects or interactions with other substances such as food supplements, over the counter medications and herbal remedies to help them adapt to lifestyle changes. Review patient documents to measure the effectiveness and quality of patient care. Provide support and advice to patients receiving long-term care.
