About the Role
Clinicians work directly with patients to provide medication-assisted treatment for Substance Use Disorders (SUD) and empower patients in their individual recovery journeys as a member of Boulder's multidisciplinary care team.
This is a high-impact, patient-facing role, which involves delivering compassionate and evidence-based care through telehealth. Care is provided largely through standard audio-visual connection but also includes occasional audio/telephone visits and a small volume of text-based communications. Clinical work is assisted by Boulder clinical decision support tools within our custom EHR, staff education, and real-time support from colleagues and clinical leadership.

Patient Facing (90%)
* Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and manage ongoing care for individuals with complex substance use disorders (SUDs) and related comorbidities
* Understand, embrace, and incorporate harm reduction practices into all patient care
* Help elicit patients' own goals for their recovery and help them in achieving these goals over time through therapeutic alliance and shared decision-making
* Educate patients on Boulder's model of care, SUDs, related comorbidities, recovery strategies, and safer use where appropriate
* Coordinate with teammates and Clinical Leadership to develop and oversee treatment plans, adjusting them as needed
* Provide patient care during scheduled part-time shifts, which may include some nonstandard hours depending on coverage needs and candidate availability

Requirements for the Role
* Minimum 1 year of addiction treatment experience as an NP including adult populations

* Ability to gain approval for multiple state licenses and insurance company contracts (no significant legal or credentialing barriers/sanctions)
* Demonstrated expertise managing SUDs within a chronic care model, utilizing medication assisted recovery paired with social needs management in a Clinician capacity
