The hospital features an active Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) program, a busy Trauma service, and comprehensive medical and surgical specialties. Responsibilities Provide high-quality, acute care to critically ill pediatric patients in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary PICU. Collaborate with a team of physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to manage complex medical and surgical cases, including post-operative cardiac patients. Participate in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients requiring intensive care, including those on ECMO and trauma cases. Perform procedures and interventions consistent with Acute Care NP training and scope of practice. Work closely with the Congenital Cardiac Surgery program to support specialized care for cardiac patients. Maintain accurate patient records and communicate effectively with families and healthcare teams. Minimum Requirements Experience: Prior Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) experience required. Certification: Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP-AC) certification through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board is required. Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications are required prior to the start date. Schedule: Full-time position with rotating days, nights, and weekends. Education: Master's degree or higher in Nursing (for NPs) or Physician Assistant Studies (for PAs) from an accredited program. Preferred Qualifications Specialized training or expertise in Cardiac Intensive Care. Experience with ECMO and trauma care in a pediatric setting.
