In accordance with UAHSF established policies and procedures, the APP is responsible for the provision and management of patient care in a clinical area for a specific patient population including UAB. Under the general direction of physicians in Interventional Radiology, Vascular Surgery, and Hematology the APP will perform inpatient DVT consultations, routine management of inpatients with DVT, and outpatient clinic. The APP will display good rapport and professionalism with patients, house staff, and all members of the team. The collaborating physician shall be available for direct communication for consultation and referral or arrange for the same medical coverage by a physician who is preapproved by the State Board of Medical Examiners in the same manner as the collaborating physician of record. Requirements: Currently enrolled in an accredited family nurse practitioner program. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced healthcare environment. Desire to work in urgent care preferred. Have an active affiliation agreement* Application Process: Submit a comprehensive resume and answer the application questions. Qualified candidates will then be contacted to set up a brief phone screening, where you will learn more about our program, and have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have! Following the phone screening, candidates will schedule a 45-minute interview with our Clinic Management team. If we then feel that you would be a great fit for our preceptorship program, we will begin trying to match you with a qualified preceptor at a clinic near you. Candidates will be then contacted with their placement information. Candidates will receive a welcome letter and complete the onboarding process.
