What you'll be working on:
Treating patients via tele-health visits, including telephonic triage calls, video visit appointments, and email follow-ups
Continuous learning during weekly Clinical Rounds and through other modalities
Ongoing collaboration with both virtual and in-office teammates via daily huddles
Utilization of your specific clinical training and opportunities to give exceptional care to patients virtually
Education, licenses, and experiences required for this role:
Completed an accredited FNP program with a national certification
In the past 5 years, practiced as an Advanced Practitioner for at least:
2 years in an outpatient primary care setting seeing patients of all ages (0+), OR 2 years in an urgent care or emergency medicine setting seeing patients of all ages (0+)
Currently licensed in NY with ability to obtain additional state licenses
Ability to work weekday and weekend shifts (every Saturday or Sunday required)
Current shifts range from (6am-5pm EST, 7am-6pm EST, 8am-7pm EST, 11am-10pm EST, 1pm-12am EST)

Correctional Health Services
The New York City jail system is the second largest in the nation. A significant number of individuals in the NYC jail system will receive care on the mental health service. The service strives to provide safe, holistic and evidence-based therapeutic interventions for the diverse range of mental health issues that face the population, from serious mental illness to the natural struggles that accompany incarceration. The service provides some of the most comprehensive and unique treatment modalities in the country, including specialty housing units for individuals with serious mental illness, a 24-hour on-call psychiatric service, robust creative arts programming, clinics in each of the facilities, substance use treatment, medication assisted treatment (MAT), integrated re-entry services that includes alternatives to incarceration, and relationships with multiple training institutions throughout the city. Furthermore, CHS has been engaged in an effort to better identify people with neurodevelopmental/neurocognitive disorders and to utilize psychological testing to connect people to services in the community (e.g., with OPWDD).
The Supervising Psychiatrist is a psychiatric leader of a facility, clinical area, or program and works in close collaboration with the Mental Health Unit Chief, Clinical Supervisors, and Senior Psychiatrist (if applicable) to ensure that safe, holistic, and evidence-based psychiatric care is provided to incarcerated patients with varying levels of mental health needs. A team-based approach to care is critical; one that incorporates all relevant mental health and medical disciplines as well as security staff. A major component of this position will be training, recruiting and retaining high quality staff and providing strong leadership and mentorship for existing staff.
Detailed Tasks:
Ensure the highest possible quality of mental health care both in the facility and in collaboration with the other jail facilities in the system. This includes active participation in quality improvement, staff and patient safety initiatives, treatment supervision, and personnel mentorship and management.
In coordination with the facility-specific Mental Health Unit Chief, design, implementation, ongoing review, and monitoring of relevant clinical facility-specific procedures, policies and operating manuals
Direct clinical individual and group supervision of the relevant psychiatric prescribing staff, including psychiatrists, psychiatricnursepractitioners, and psychiatric physician assistants. This supervision must include both in vivo reviews of clinical skills as well as chart review.
Close collaboration, including regularly scheduled meetings, with other relevant disciplines within the mental health, medical, nursing and operations departments, as well as the Department of Correction
Ensure that medication renewals are completed in a timely manner
Educate clinical staff about new developments regarding best practices in all aspects of psychiatric care, with specific attention to the challenges and issues facing a jail setting (e.g., influence of legal case, dual loyalty, medication diversion)
Ensure compliance with all regulatory standards
In collaboration with the Mental Health Unit Chief, oversee the orientation of new staff to the facility or program
Conduct regular and multi-disciplinary case conferences
Report on an as-needed basis to the CHS Morbidity and Mortality review committee.
Work in collaboration with the Mental Health Unit Chief to manage clinical schedules, vacation requests, CME activities and other relevant activities as they pertain to psychiatric staffing and education
Participate in policy revision and creation, and practice guideline creations, related to psychiatric care, including input into the psychiatric medication formulary
Lead at least monthly interdisciplinary mental health staff meetings in coordination with the Mental Health Unit Chief, Clinical Supervisor and Senior Psychiatrist (if applicable).
Personnel management of clinical staff, including setting quality standards, establishing effective recruitment and retention strategies, and managing workforce complaints
At least 75% of time devoted to direct clinical care, which may include direct supervision of psychiatric trainees. For smaller facilities or programs with less supervisory need, more direct patient care will be expected
On-call responsibilities for two weeks at a time, one to times/year, for off-hours issues that require high level clinical intervention
Other duties at the discretion of the Medical Director of Mental Health, the Chief of Service, or respective Senior Psychiatrist, if applicable.
Minimum Qualifications
1.Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Healthcare Administration, Health CarePlanning, Business Administration, Public Administration or a related discipline; and seven (7) years ofprogressively responsible experience in health and medical service administration, public administration,personnel and labor relations, finance or appropriate functional discipline with an emphasis on planning,liaison and inter-organizational relationships, or related administrative or managerial functions; or
2.Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in disciplines, as listed in “1” above; and eight(8)years of progressively responsible experience in areas, as listed in “1”; or

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Collaborates with DON and clinical consultants in facilitating orientation for clinical employees outside of nursing and Infection Control issues.
2. Oversees the infection control program in the facility, which includes:
collecting and analyzing statistics relating to nosocomial infections, and other infections of concern,
discussing with DON and reporting to the Department of Health any reportable infections or outbreaks,
coordinating the response to infectious outbreaks in the facility,
coordinating the immunization program for residents and staff,
maintaining current policies and procedures relating to the control of infections in the facility,
coordinating quarterly and ad hoc infection control committee meetings, taking minutes and following up on issues of concern,
provide staff education related to infection control practices.

3. Ensures regulatory compliance (DOH, JCAHO) in all educational and infection control areas, and actively participates in DOH and JCAHO surveys. Assists in the provision of staff education in response to corrections needed for survey deficiencies.
4. Assists in the design and implementation of performance improvement activities for the clinical departments and Infection Control.
5. Participates in QAPI committee meetings and presents infection control and antibiotic stewardship reports.
6. Utilizes outstanding interpersonal skills with all customers - staff, residents/patients, families, visitors and external agencies and vendors.
7. Observes for, intervenes with and reports safety issues and potential hazards affecting residents/patients, staff and visitors as necessary.
8. Adheres to, teaches and ensures compliance of staff with Infection Control standards.
9. Maintains professional knowledge base by attending outside seminars, courses and workshops, as appropriate.
10.Schedules/tracks employee vaccinations of residents and employees in coordination with employee health nurse.
11.Performs all other related duties as directed by Director of Nursing.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State,
2. Baccalaureate in Nursing, Master's Degree in Education or healthcare related field is preferred,
3. Completed specialized training in infection prevention and control
4. Five years of professional responsibility for the management and administration of educational programs, including curriculum development, preferably in a long-term setting,
5. BCLS Certification.
6. APIC certification preferred and/or equivalent combination of education and infection control experience.

We are currently seeking warm and empathetic PsychiatricNursePractitioners. Full-Time and Part-Time positions are available with flexible scheduling. The position will be based out of one of the following locations: 80-20 45th Avenue, Elmhurst, NY (Queens); 2316 Surf Ave, Brooklyn, NY (Brooklyn); 2857 Linden Blvd., Brooklyn (East New York); 102 Pilling St., Brooklyn (Bushwick); and 579 Courtlandt Ave., Bronx (South Bronx).
Responsibilities:
As a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team, and under the supervision of a psychiatrist (if required), the PsychiatricNursePractitioner will provide advanced clinical psychiatricnursing care, including:
Performing psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management of clients
Prescribing or recommending medication or other forms of treatment or related therapeutic procedures
Ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests to identify and assess clients' clinical problems and health care needs
Ordering laboratory tests and other diagnostic procedures
Referring clients to specialized health resources for treatment
Performing crisis intervention
Communicating with healthcare professionals, families, and staff members to ensure ongoing quality delivery of health services
May be asked to cover other sites if necessary
Requirements:
Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited nursepractitioner program is required
Must be currently licensed in New York State as a psychiatricnursepractitioner
Must be currently certified with the DEA to prescribe medication.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with other disciplines, including clinical and clerical staff
Excellent assessment, diagnostic and psychopharmacological treatment skills
Strong clinical skills working with individuals with mental illness
Dedication to team-based care
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team , to assist children and adults of diverse backgrounds, ages, ethnicities and sexual preferences
Must be registered as a NY State Medicaid provider. Must have a DEA# and an individual NPI#
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus!
Compensation commensurate with experience and qualifications. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Patient evaluation and treatment, medication management, case conferencing and in-service training to the staff. Provide input into the incident review committee and training committee as well as outside conferences. Provide emergency first aid/CPR assistance when needed. Related duties assigned. Report to the Medical Director.
HOURS:
* Thursday-Friday 9am-5:30pm
QUALIFICATIONS: NYS Certified psychiatricnursepractitioner. Have prior experience working with a MICA population. CPR training certification or willingness to take training class in CPR.

Location: Hybrid (Upper West Side, New York)
Position Summary:
The PsychiatricNursePractitioner (PNP) or Psychiatrist provides comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment to children ages 0-9 and their families within an early childhood mental health setting. The PNP or psychiatrist works collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team-including therapists, social workers, family peer advocates, and psychiatrists-to promote emotional, behavioral, and developmental well-being in young children.
Key Responsibilities:· Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including developmental, medical, and psychosocial assessments.
· Diagnose mental health and behavioral disorders in young children in accordance with DSM-5-TR and developmental considerations.
· Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including psychopharmacological interventions when appropriate.
· Provide ongoing medication management, monitoring efficacy, side effects, and adherence.
· Collaborate closely with parents/caregivers to promote understanding of the child's diagnosis, treatment, and medication plan.
· Coordinate care with therapists, case managers, pediatricians, and schools to ensure a holistic approach to treatment.
· Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).
· Provide psychoeducation and consultation to staff regarding early childhood psychiatric and developmental issues.
Salary / Compensation (Part-Time / Per Diem):
· $125 to $175 per hour depending on experience
Requirements Qualifications:
· Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing from an accredited program or Doctor of Medicine (MD).· Current licensure as a NursePractitioner in Psychiatry (PMHNP) in the State of New York or Current New York State medical license and DEA registration.· Board Certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health NursePractitioner (Across the Lifespan or Child/Adolescent Focus) or Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.· Minimum of 2 years of experience in child or early childhood psychiatry preferred.· Experience working with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams.· Knowledge of early childhood development, trauma, and attachment theory strongly preferred.· Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills.· Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
