Assesses, diagnoses, implements, treats, evaluates, and monitors patients' health status. Performs complete physical examinations on patients within their scope of practice. Orders routine and diagnostic lab and x-ray studies as indicated by protocol. Diagnoses acute and chronic illness on the basis of clinical findings, laboratory and x-ray reports, and/or the results of other diagnostic procedures according to approved protocols. Formulates, initiates, and monitors patient management plans for patients assigned to the APRN/ PA, using protocols and/or consultation with a collaborative physician. Refers patients requiring hospitalization or assessment and management of conditions to supervising physicians or appropriate specialists. Follows patients' progress with the physician. Travels to surrounding clinics as needed. When training new team members, you will represent PTCOA in a respectful, responsible manner and uphold all standards of patient care. This includes but is not limited to training on PTCOA policies and procedures for evaluating and treating patients, following safe prescribing practices, following patient protocol, and accurate and complete documentation of all encounters. REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS The position requires graduation from an accredited school of nursing, a Nurse Practitioner program recognized by the Board of Nursing, or from a program otherwise designated for APN which has been approved by the State Board of Nursing, a current APRN or PA license in the state of AR, current DEA license, and current ACLS and BLS certifications. One (1) year of prior experience in the clinical practice setting is preferred. WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are expected to include 7:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. (Monday - Thursday). Occasional overtime may be required. The position operates in a professional office environment and the incumbent, in the course of performing this position, spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, driving, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, walking, standing, and reaching. The incumbent may operate any or all of the following standard office equipment including but not limited to multi-line telephone system, postage meter, facsimile machines, calculator, photocopy machine, computer/printer, and coffee maker. The incumbent may operate medical equipment.
