About You
Medical/Master?s degree and certification
PA - Valid California license to practice as a Physician Assistant and current national certification.
Valid California license to practice as a NursePractitioner and current national certification.
Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of California.
Maintain a controlled substance DEA license.
Ability to consult and treat patients of all ages.
Maintain confidentiality and impartiality at all times.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assess patient wounds and develop a comprehensive treatment plan.
Debridement of wounds by sharp, enzymatic or autolytic methods.
Application of topical wound care and associated wound management products.
Recommendation of associated services to improve wound healing outcomes. This includes, but is not limited to, labs, radiologic tests, vascular tests, referrals, home health care, Negative Pressure Wound Therapy device, and orthotics.
Interpretation of diagnostic tests and recommendation of appropriate follow up.
Recommendations for prescription of required medications and/or Durable Medical Equipment (DME) to facilitate wound healing and/or wound prevention within her/his scope of practice, license and as per the collaborative agreement with the supervising physician.
Risk assessment for Members with Diabetes, as per the American Diabetes Association (ADA) guidelines.
Patient education and management.
Education of the Primary Care Physician (PCP), Case Manager (CM), or referring Physician on current wound management practices.
Provide patient updates to PCP, CM, and Physicians.
Communicate in a clear and understandable manner using appropriate verbal and non-verbal styles.
Actively participate in departmental activities to improve training methods and achieve company goals.
Assist with one-on-one training and coaching sessions as assigned.
Attend required meetings and participate as a committee member as requested.
Assist with special projects as needed.
Maintain strict confidentiality.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Candidates must hold a current state license as a NursePractitioner or Physician Assistant. Experience in direct patient care, particularly in the homecare setting, is highly valued. Strong clinical acumen, excellent communication skills, and a passion for innovative wound treatment are essential.
Requires manual dexterity, sitting, standing, stooping, reaching, kneeling, crouching, bending, walking, lifting to 50 lbs. Close vision and ability to adjust focus.

Provide primary, secondary, and in some cases, tertiary care within scope of practice, licensure, and organizational policies.
Services provided include, but are not limited to taking histories, conducting physical examinations, ordering, performing, and interpreting appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests and therapies and furnishing drugs and devices in a cost-efficient manner for specific conditions.
Perform history and physical assessments of patients that are accurate, concise, relevant, and appropriate.
Document the consultation and new patient note.
Perform routine procedures, pertinent to the practice and as granted through the privilege process.
During simple follow-up cases, the you may independently manage patients in follow-up including ordering follow-up imaging, providing medical care, and support to the patient including ordering pharmacological agents.
Interpret imaging and communicates with attending physician regarding interval patient change.
Prescribe and council patients on narcotic use safety.
Demonstrate pharmacologic knowledge including indications, contraindications, side effects, interactions, and adverse effects of pharmacologic agents.
Review treatment and therapy plans with patients and appropriate family members.
Practice clinical care informed by evidence-based literature.
Instruct and counsel patients in matters related to health care management including diet, medication and physical and mental health needs and refers to the appropriate specialists when appropriate.
Your qualifications should include:
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with a master?s degree as a Physician Assistant.
Graduate of an accredited NursePractitioner program with a master?s degree as a NursePractitioner
Oncology experience preferred
First Assist experience preferred
Current California Physician Assistant License
Current American Heart Association BLS certification, required.
Current American Heart Association ACLS certification, required.
Must have a current DEA.

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant (PA) to join our urgent care team. The ideal candidate will be confident in providing comprehensive care to patients of all ages with a wide variety of urgent medical needs, including minor injuries, acute illnesses, and preventive services. They also need to be able to see Work related injuries, Pre-employment Physicals and DOT Physicals. If you are not already certified with DOT, you will need to be certified ideally prior to the start date or 30 days after your first day. This is reimbursed by the company after completion of the course.
Responsibilities:
Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including history, physical exam, and diagnostic testing.
Diagnose and treat acute illnesses and injuries in patients of all ages.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, EKGs, and lab work.
Perform minor procedures (e.g., suturing, splinting, wound care, incision & drainage).
Prescribe appropriate medications and treatments in accordance with state regulations.
Collaborate with supervising physicians and other team members to ensure high-quality patient care.
Document all patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in the EMR.
Provide patient education and discharge instructions.
Diagnosis and treatment of work related injuries, Physicals and other work-related exams.
Qualifications:
Current Physician Assistant license in CA.
NCCPA certification required.
Previous urgent care, emergency medicine, or family practice experience preferred.
Previous experience in Workers Comp
Proficiency in performing common urgent care procedures.
Strong clinical decision-making and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Schedule & Compensation:
Schedule is four 10-hour shifts and will include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Competitive compensation based on experience with a range from $135,000 to $160,000 yearly.
