REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Master's Degree in Nursing or Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP). APRN license required for Kansas and/or Missouri depending on place of practice. Registered Nurse in State of Kansas. Certification as appropriate to psychiatric advanced or specialized practice by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or an equivalent body, or must be actively seeking certification. Certification must be successfully completed within one year of hire. Current BLS certification. Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical psychiatric experience. Individual must: Develop rapport with patients and their families, community, and other health care personnel. Exhibit a professional and respectful demeanor. Work successfully independently and within a team, shifting tasks, prioritizing tasks, problem-solving daily, and completing work within deadlines. Demonstrate excellent customer service, helpfulness, and a positive attitude. Possess superior organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Demonstrate the ability to recognize, understand, and appreciate the value of cultural diversity and communicate medical information in plain language. Demonstrate social and cultural sensitivity appropriate to ethnically and economically diverse patients and staff. Exhibit experience and working knowledge of local community resources. Hold current driver's license and reliable transportation. Travel to all parts of the facility and throughout the community. PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Bilingual in English and Spanish 1-2 years of experience in the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner role preferred.
