The Department of Psychiatry is seeking experienced Advanced Practice Nurses (APN) that is able to admit patients, make rounds, write orders for medication, diagnostic studies, devices, and consultations on inpatient psychiatric unit or provide services to patients scheduled at contracted agencies. Candidate will work collaboratively with staff nurses, social workers and other staff physicians and agency staff. Location and time of assignments to be mutually agreed upon.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Provides coverage at inpatient sites. Services to include psychiatric evaluation, medication management, restraints and staff consultation as required. Provides appropriate documentation of care including chart notes and completion of required/requested forms.
Provides additional coverage call for the Department's hospital contract. Coverage will be on‑site face-to-face.
Must ensure the possession of a functioning phone at all times while on-call.
Must respond to any and all calls by telephone response within 15 minutes.
Must be available and respond to any and all or direct service to patients within one hour of being called for restraint, sentinel event, near-miss or any other clinical situation that requires face-to-face clinical care by an independent clinical practitioner.
Keeps abreast of agency, hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
Submits appropriate billing information.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
