Full-time, Days, 7am-3:30pm Job Description:

Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Behavioral Health or Milieu Manager assists the professional staff in the care of psychiatric patients. Facilitates the maintenance of the therapeutic environment in the psychiatric unit.
Duties and Responsibilities


+ Provides care to patients in a manner that considers safety, comfort, and the therapeutic environment.


+ Assists the team members in the care and evaluation of patients.


+ Assists patients with activities of daily living.


+ Checks patient's vital signs.


+ Charts observations on assigned patients' in legible, accurate and appropriate format following hospital and unit procedures.


+ May apply physical restraints or assist with placing a patient in seclusion under the direct supervision of the physician or RN.


+ Facilitates educational groups and supervises recreational activities as directed by the RN.


Qualifications

Qualifications
High School Graduate.
Previous experience in psychiatric-mental health setting or previous experience in medical-surgical health care setting preferred.
If working with a specialty population, e.g., geriatrics or children and adolescents, previous experience with that population also preferred.
Strong communication skills required.
Successful completion of CPR training and crisis intervention training within 3 months of hire.
