Key Responsibilities
• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, diagnostic assessments, and medication management
• Manage urgent psychiatric situations, including crisis assessments and hospitalization determinations
• Provide suicide risk evaluations, crisis intervention, and ongoing therapeutic support
• Collaborate with psychologists, social workers, nurses, and other clinical staff to coordinate and optimize patient care
• Participate in interdisciplinary treatment planning, consultations, and case review discussions
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and specialty consults while ensuring adherence to clinical guidelines
• Document all encounters within VistA/CPRS in compliance with VA, HIPAA, Joint Commission, and CARF standards
• Support resident education or supervision, when applicable
• Provide on-call coverage as assigned
• Deliver care in-person at the main campus or CBOCs, and via VA Video Connect when needed
Required Qualifications
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited institution
