The CRNA is responsible for assessing patients, developing individualized anesthesia care plans, administering anesthesia, monitoring patients intraoperatively, and managing recovery from anesthesia. This role ensures safe, effective, and compassionate care while upholding the highest standards of clinical practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments, including patient history, physical examination, and review of diagnostic data.
Develop and implement anesthesia care plans tailored to patient needs and surgical requirements.
Administer general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care in a variety of clinical settings.
Monitor patients' vital signs, depth of anesthesia, and physiologic status during procedures.
Respond to emergency situations and provide airway management, resuscitation, and critical care support as needed.
Ensure safe emergence from anesthesia and provide post-anesthesia care, including pain management.
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and other members of the care team.
Educate patients and families about anesthesia procedures, risks, and recovery expectations.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient records.

* Prescribes, directs, and administers psychotherapeutic treatments or medications to treat mental, emotional, behavioral disorders and/or chemical dependency including inpatient detoxification.
* Collaborates with physicians, psychologists, counselors, social workers, psychiatric nurses and/or other professionals to discuss treatment plans and progress.
* Gathers and maintains patient information and records, including social and medical history obtained from patients, relatives and other professionals.
* Counsels outpatients and other patients during office visits.
* Designs individualized care plans, using a variety of treatments.
* Examines or conducts laboratory or diagnostic tests on patients to provide information on their general physical condition and mental disorder.
* Advises and informs treatment center professionals, relatives and significant others of patients' conditions and treatment.

Our Psychiatrists serve our community by providing direct clinical care of clients, including evaluation, prescribing of medications as appropriate, development of treatment plans, and ordering of lab tests at one or more clinical facilities in the Lake County Health Department and Community Health Center. Additionally, this role provides psychiatric consultations as requested by LCHD/CHC staff and from other agencies.
* Facilitates with clients and collaborates with the treatment team to develop, review and update treatment goals and referrals both internally and externally.
* Evaluates clients regarding their need for psychotropic medication and prescribes medication when appropriate.
* Performs psychiatric evaluations, as requested by other staff members, for purposes of diagnosis and for treatment planning.
* Conducts crisis intervention/evaluation/referral to persons who present themselves at the program.
* Consults with staff regarding clients not necessarily seen directly by the psychiatrist. This will include, but is not limited to, cases in which psychiatric supervision is necessary for insurance purposes.
Scheduled Hours: 32 hours / 4 days per week
* Graduation from an LCME-accredited or ECFMG-accredited medical school is required.
* Minimum of four years of Graduate Medical Education in a psychiatric residency training in a program approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education is required.
* Board eligible within (2) years of hire, in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology, the National Board of Physicians and Surgeons, or other board certification entity required.
* Current active license from the State of Illinois as a Physician; or a letter from the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation stating that the application for licensure endorsement has been approved, with receipt of Illinois license following within six months of the initial application date for endorsement required.
* Current active and unrestricted Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) from the State of Illinois is required.
* Registration with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) is required.
