Job Details
Full-Time, Long-Term Locums/Contract assignment (1yr), with additional extension opportunities
Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (8-hour shifts)
Family Medicine / Internal Medicine MD/DO required
2-3 years of relevant clinical experience preferred
Board Certification required (ABFM, ABIM, or equivalent)
Active Washington State Physician License preferred, can work of any US license
Prior IHS or Tribal health experience strongly preferred
Previous Locum Tenens experience a plus
Comfortable treating both adults and pediatric patients
Family Practice Physician Responsibilities
Examine, evaluate, and diagnose patients of all ages
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging (x-rays, ultrasounds, etc.)
Provide treatment plans, prescribe medications, and manage acute and chronic conditions within clinical privileges
Refer patients for specialty consultation when indicated
Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and wellness
Document all patient encounters accurately in the EHR
Maintain active clinical privileges as granted by the facility or Service Unit Credentials Committee
Participate fully in medical staff activities, quality assurance, committees, and program reviews
Perform physical exams, including general, neurological, and resuscitative care
Provide mentorship, on-the-job training, or orientation to IHS and Tribal clinic staff as needed
Support public health efforts and deliver medical services in homes, schools, clinics, and community locations within the Service Unit

This role will also support the aneurysm clinic and lung nodule clinic.
