This position requires advanced level skill in delivering evidence-based interventions targeted to improve overall health for patients with a variety of emotional and behavioral problems. The work includes meeting with patients individually and/or families for an assessment and then providing recommendations to the medical care team to enhance the patient's care plan. When indicated, the Psychologist may also work with patients for several subsequent sessions to provide on-going skills training and coaching to improve health and functioning. The Psychologist also supports helping patients, who require services not provided in the RCH clinics, to make a smooth transition to care with community partners.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Psychology Doctoral degree from an accredited school of Psychology. Completion of Psychology Internship and Residency.
Experience:
Minimum of two years of pediatric clinical experience. Experience with trauma informed care, working in integrated medical teams, and working in fast paced environments preferred.

Licensed Psychologist (PhD/PsyD)
SKILLS:
Able to conduct Cognitive-Behavioral or solution focused interventions. Recognizes and advocates for patients regarding behavioral health strategies/interventions to the treatment team. Promotes health behavior change through evaluation, brief intervention and education. Works with multidisciplinary team to help support the patient's health. Coordinates with physicians, nurses, social work care managers, registered dieticians, and all other members of the care team to provide excellent consultation.
Demonstrates competencies in assessment of emotional, cognitive and behavioral disorders in child and adolescent patients. Demonstrates competencies in understanding the relationship between medical and psychological conditions. Demonstrates competency in assessment cognitive and psychological problems associated with, and/or exacerbating medical conditions. Demonstrates excellent communication and relational skills. POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Behavioral Health Consultant (BHC) works in a consultative role at the Center for Women's Health alongside a mix of physicians, certified nurse midwives, and women's health nurse practitioners, providing behavioral health assessments and interventions to patients. The BHC is an integral member of the Women's Health team whose role is to help address a broad spectrum of behavioral health needs in the Women's Health patient population. The BHC aids in early identification and provides brief, solution-focused interventions that promote wellness and prevention for as many patients as possible. The BHC provides same-day consultative services to primary care providers and patients for a broad array of behavioral health issues in the form of assessment, brief interventions, and triage of psychosocial problems in the clinic patient population.
This position requires advanced skills in conducting brief assessments using a biopsychosocial model and delivering brief evidence-based interventions including psychoeducation, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Problems Solving Therapy, Behavioral Activation and other short-term solution-focused interventions. The goal is to improve overall health and quality of life of patients with a variety of physical, emotional, and behavioral needs. The BHC work also includes providing curbside consultations to primary care providers and providing recommendations to the primary care team to enhance the patient's care plan. When indicated, the BHC may also work with patients for a limited number of follow-up sessions to provide ongoing skills training and coaching to improve health and functioning. The BHC will also triage patients and help ensure smooth coordination of care with community partners for patients who require more intensive specialty services not provided in the primary care clinic.

Work location: The psychologist's primary work location will be the Center for Women's Health Care clinic in Redmond, Oregon but may require some travel to other Central Oregon clinics. Other locations may be added as patient and business needs dictate.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES:
Clinical Responsibilities:
Plans and provides psychological assessment and diagnosis in a women's health care setting with brief psychotherapeutic interventions as needed.
Provides targeted assessment and evaluation, including diagnostic impression and functional status on presenting problem(s).
Timely and succinct feedback to Women's Health providers regarding consultation findings and recommendations.
Triaging and referring patients to specialty mental health care when appropriate.
Formulation of behavioral health interventions appropriate to the Women's Health care setting and assisting with implementation of Women's Health Care providers treatment plans.
Providing brief follow-up, including relapse prevention and education.
Developing, teaching, and providing oversight for classes that promote education and skill-building to enhance psychological and physical health.
Providing ongoing consultation services for a sub-set of patients who require ongoing monitoring and follow up (e.g. continuity consultations).
Sharing knowledge with other team members and patients both formally (in-services, consult responses) and informally (hallway conversations).
Working as a Women's Health Care team member to develop specific clinical pathways or best practice programs for targeted patient groups.
Plans, develops, and implements groups and other services for mental health needs.
Develops behavioral health programs to meet the needs of the changing organization and changes in health care delivery.
Active member of the multi-disciplinary team within the clinic, providing team-based care.
Document all patient care in the proper form and in a timely manner in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory agencies.
Delivers first rate customer service and/or patient care in a manner that promotes goodwill, and is timely, efficient, and accurate, and courteous.
Non-Clinical Responsibilities:
Be familiar with the SCMG organization structure, communications systems and billing process, completing billing and coding documentation within time assigned by SCMG administration.

This residency is designed for adult treatment focused, or child and adolescent treatment focused clinicians. The position includes professional support and development opportunities that exceeds the minimum requirements for supervised practice to attain licensure as a psychologist in Oregon.
This is a full-time, 12 month position with the potential to be hired full time after residency and licensure. Our ideal candidates are those with experience in treating adults, or children and adolescents. The position duration can be extended if needed to accrue adequate licensing hours.
Experience assessing and treating ADHD, mood, and anxiety disorders in an outpatient setting is highly preferred. Ideal candidates will have strong skills in differential diagnosis to rule in ADHD and rule out other mood, anxiety, developmental, or cognitive disorders. Experience in the administration of continuous performance tests and Weschler measures are a plus. Time management and accurate and concise documentation practices will help candidates excel in this position.
Postdoctoral residents will spend a significant amount of time assessing patients for ADHD and other mood disorders. They will be responsible for administering the TOVA (Test of Variables of Attention) test, the Test of Memory Malingering (TOMM) and related measures on a weekly basis. Residents also lead a therapy group of their design weekly, and see an average of 20-25 patients per week in an outpatient setting. This position includes weekly interdisciplinary group consultation time and direct supervision from a licensed Psychologist. Opportunities to engage in research may be available. Every week, our psychologist residents participate in didactics, interdisciplinary treatment team meetings, and at least 2 hours of individual supervision with a licensed psychologist.
Eligible candidates must have a PsyD or PhD in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA-accredited program. APA-accredited internship is highly prefered. Dissertation must be complete to apply; ABD applications will not be considered. Applicants must be in an approved Residency Contract with the Oregon Board of Psychology prior to beginning clinical work; a position offer will be revoked if an individual is unable to enter an Oregon Board of Psychology approved Residency Contract.
Applicants must demonstrate an ability to assess and treat ADHD, work as an effective interdisciplinary team member, and maintain patient confidentiality and documentation in compliance with state, federal, professional, and ethical guidelines. Applicants must also demonstrate an ability to consistently utilize professional communication and conflict resolution skills with patients and staff.
The schedule for this position is 40 hours per week, exact hours to be determined by site needs and resident preferences. This flexible, part-time opportunity is ideal for those passionate about supporting student success, promoting equity, and fostering an understanding of human behavior through psychological science.
You will teach introductory and transfer-level psychology courses, such as General Psychology, Lifespan Development, and Social Psychology, in online, hybrid, or in-person formats. As a valued member of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, you will report to the Dean of HSS and contribute to the academic development of a diverse and motivated student body.

PHYSICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Instructors are required to use a computer in the work environment. The ability to navigate difficult terrain in field settings is required.
COMPENSATION:
The work schedule is based on an eleven-week quarterly schedule and could vary each quarter. Salary is dependent upon contract load and mode of instruction. A standard five-credit "lecture mode" class would be approximately $6,387.94 at Step A. Special assignments are paid at $45 per hour, and meeting stipends are compensated per the CBA rate, starting at $55 for meetings lasting from 30 minutes up to 2 hours.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Providing routine and crisis mental health assessment to University of Washington student outpatients
* Formulating treatment goals for mental health outpatients and making effective referrals to appropriate healthcare resources after assessment
* Conducting individual, group, and couple psychotherapy, conceptualizing and utilizing psychological theory and research findings in case formulation and treatment planning
* Planning and conducting psycho-educational programs on mental health issues
* Communicating with other professionals about case conceptualization and management when collaborating in the care of a client
* Providing crisis intervention to mental health outpatients
* Providing consultation to faculty and staff regarding mental health issues with students
* Participating in the development of counseling policies, forms, and procedures
* Maintaining accurate records in a timely fashion
* Participating in data collection and analysis related to counseling center usage
* Providing clinical supervision and didactic training to doctoral psychology interns and practicum trainees, completion of supervision evaluations, write letters of recommendation and other professional development for trainees (as appropriate) and provide feedback to training director about trainee performance
* Developing community resources, including referral sites
* Performing all duties in a manner consistent with the Revised Code of Washington, Washington Administrative Code, and the American Psychological Association's (APA) Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

* Minimum of one year experience in a clinical setting (can include internship year).
