Description
Emory Brain Health and the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences are seeking a faculty psychologist to join their inaugural interdisciplinary Headache Center team. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of headache care, research, and education within one of the most prestigious academic institutions in the United States. Ideal candidates would have a background in health psychology, pain psychology, and/or specialized treatments for headaches. The candidate would conduct biopsychosocial assessments, develop tailored treatment plans, and provide a full range of evidence-based therapeutic interventions to help patients manage pain and stress and improve their quality of life.
A successful candidate would demonstrate a robust foundation in the following:
* Fundamental principles and practices of health psychology and pain psychology
* Comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments of headaches and co-occurring psychological disorders
* Evidence-based interventions (e.g., cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness therapies) to reduce headache frequency, mitigate pain and its impact, improve functioning, and enhance quality of life

Additional Details
Applicants should have a strong background in clinical health psychology and integrated care with medically ill populations. They must have a doctorate in clinical or counseling psychology from an APA accredited graduate program, an APA accredited internship, and at least one-year supervised postdoctoral training. The individual must be licensed or license eligible in Georgia. Board certification through the American Board of Professional Psychology is required within 7 years of starting this faculty position.

This clinician is also responsible for supporting patients in accessing community resources for psychiatry and specialty mental health. This clinician is responsible for providing interventions for patients across the lifespan.
Required Minimum Education:
Experience working in the ambulatory setting or in a hospital setting is preferred.
Current Georgia License as Psychologist is required.
Three years' experience in a health-related field, mental health, and behavioral health is required for this position.
Required Minimum Skills:
Crisis Intervention, brief evidenced based interventions and experience working with patients using the biopsychosocial model.
Possesses emotional maturity, interested in learning and teaching, and comfortable in fast-paced environments.
Demonstrates ability to work with patients across the lifespan.

This role is essential to our mission, providing therapy, crisis support, and service coordination for mental health clients in a variety of settings. As a Licensed Psychologist with Grace Harbour, you will provides advanced clinical services in an outpatient behavioral health setting for individuals experiencing a range of mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide psychological evaluations and assessments, including intellectual, personality, diagnostic, and neuropsychological screening tools as clinically indicated.
Develop and deliver individualized, evidence-based psychotherapy interventions for individuals, families, and groups.
Interpret assessment findings and prepare comprehensive reports to support diagnostic clarity, treatment planning, disability determinations, or court-related services.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support treatment planning and case formulation.
Participate in team meetings, care coordination, and discharge planning.
Provide crisis assessment and stabilization services, including risk assessments (e.g., suicide, violence, psychosis) and safety planning.
Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation consistent with ethical standards, DBHDD, CARF, Medicaid and DFCS requirements.
Provide clinical supervision or consultation to unlicensed staff, interns, or post-doctoral trainees (if credentialed to do so).

Qualifications:
Education: Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology from an APA-accredited program.

Experience:
Minimum of 2 years of post-doctoral experience in behavioral health or related clinical settings
